Game Thread Lady Vols at Vanderbilt

The usual bad Refs of women's basketball. They do not know a charge from a block. Just have to live with it and move on.

Wow, a young inexperienced Vandy team yet we struggle with them. But hey, our coach doesn't seem to care about offense. She didn't notice when we shot 17% in the first half at Rutgers.

I am so sick of officials who constantly call charges when they are not! They are idiots. Graves was called for a charge on a layup that was wrong, and Izzy was called for a charge that wasn't. You cannot run and jump in front a player going up for a layup and get a charge call--it isn't! Also, the offensive player is entitled to the space above her when she shoots. Izzy got the ball, a Vandy player ran up and put her body against her--and when Izzy went up for the shot the Vandy player flopped to the floor. That is not a charge. You cannot call a charge every time some player flops to the floor--but officials just have this genetic need to call charges.
This officiating crew may be the worst I have ever seen.

Vandy flopping is atrocious. I feel like I'm watching an early 2000s men's Duke game.

I wonder if the flopping is a Balcomb addition, or inherited from Fister?

I call them the Flopadores instead of the Commodores...it rolls easier off the tongue and fits them better!

We shot 37 percent in that half mainly because of Burdick hitting a few shots. Held them to 26 percent. We won the rebound battle 21 to 14. We had 8 turnovers to their 9. We really need to do better than that need to force about ten in this half while we go less than five. If we can maintain 37 to 40 percent shooting think we can win this game. They are an inexperienced team but playing in that place helps them.

dunbar shot 2 threes that were dead on but just short, Tn rebounded both I think for putback points. She also blocked out and rebounded in the paint and what did she get for it? a seat back on the bench..... :(

Not worse than Friday night! But yes, still bad

I've yet to see a ref crew where I thought, "Wow, refs were really good tonight."

One of the givens of watching women's basketball is that that they might as well title it "Murder in the Paint"

that zone didn't last long lol. I wondered why we even went to that being that our man defense has been very effective..good to see Dunbar in there!! she had the looks, but just couldn't hit one..maybe we can find some offense in the second half..

If they were not hitting the three they would have five points. Four threes were their main offense.

Agree. A lot of the calls are just head shakers. I've noticed that officiating in all college sports has been going down hill for the past 6-7 years.

I think she rebounds really well and has the sweetest shot I've seen from a Tennessee player since bjorkland..give her more minutes holly!!

That little play where they don't give someone room to turnaround is supposed to be a foul if I remember the rules correctly.

I am waiting for Izzy to get the ball in the paint and three of the defenders standing around her decide to fall down at once.

It's like they don't even know the rules. How you can be a competent, even halfway experienced official and yet still call charges every time someone flops. It's like elementary-school officiating.

It seems as if the refs are competing with each other for calls.

Both hands straight up... still a foul.

Izzy might as well tap out and go pro. They aren't going to let her play.
