Well, a win is a win. If anything, it's good to see that the guards and Burdick can step up when the posts are shut down.

Disappointing showing from Izzy and the freshmen. Izzy seems to struggle against the meatier players.

The worst part of our game was the ugly turnovers. I bet were close to 20 mostly unforced throwing the ball inbounds.

20 Tennessee turnovers in this game. We only forced them into 17. That is a bad floor game for us especially since we can't shoot forty percent.

Vandy is a bad team I expect they will have double digit losses in the SEC. As bad as we played on offense and 20 turnovers we still beat them by eight.

Definitely not aesthetically pleasing basketball tonight, but when you leave that arena with a win, you gladly take it. I swear that place is haunted.

The turnovers bothered me, and Izzy really needs to work on her body language. Vandy played the mugging game too

Probably because someone would scream "sexism"; remember when they got all bent out of shape because Pat used MEN practice players? Shame on her...she should have been supporting women's athletics. Please don't tell me I should have used blue font on that last sentence.

And I still say enterline is the worst ref.

The play of the game was when that Vandy player hits Burdick in the mouth knocks her to the floor and no foul called. Then he explains to Holly why getting hit in the mouth is not a foul and she just nods ok.

To add insult to injury they make Burdick go out of the game because of blood and she has to get wiped down be replaced and then get put back in.

Have to agree... Doesn't appear that HW tries to challenge the refs on some of the BS calls against Izzy either.

I thought the Lady Vols basketball game was tonight. All I could find on the SEC network was the Lady Vols - Vandy rugby match. Anybody know when the BB game is? Dee loves to watch our players get beat on for some reason. I have no idea how this gets fixed but they are going to get somebody hurt real bad if they don't call the games the way they should.

mane that was ugly. The best shot might be early in the shot clock. At least our ladies are showing grit. 4 touches for Izzy, 3 for Graves. Actually 5 and 2.

The guards keep producing, the spacing on opponent's defense will get better.

Careless turnovers we have to clean up, or we gonna lose some ball games. OK a new chant for the season,fire the refs, they have sucked so far in the SEC.

I've been a Holly critic but I'm starting to come around. She was a tough nut as a player and finally her players are taking on her personality.

And any win over vandy is a keeper.

OK. You got me Dee is as bad as Brian....they are tied for worse.

New refs are needed; you are right; someone is going to get badly hurt and the current set of idiots will just stand there with a dumb look on their faces when it happens. And the NCAA will do nothing.

Holly is too mild-mannered to be a big-time coach. She tries to be tough but she clearly does not have the personality for it.

Our coaches need to move Harrison around more. You can't just sit her in the low post on offense and let wide-bodies lean on her all game. She's a good athlete and can shoot--bring her out to the high post more. We're too damn predictable on offense.

The good news is that Carter is playing well, and so is Massengale. We will have trouble scoring inside this year because teams will swarm Izzy and other than Burdick (who had a good game tonight) none of our fowards can score much except from rebounds. We really need Graves and Jones and Burdick to help with scoring--but Burdick is the only one of the three capable of making jumpers with any consistency.

If you take the time to go to the Vandy site and watch their coach's post game interview you will find a very honest response to the game and her team. A humorous and telling story of how difficult it is to create a team. As a fan of the game of women's basketball I would recommend

She did. Just heard it on the replay. Was on the Vandy site earlier but did not notice names.

Only 7-8 comments on the only thread, but Vandy had a @1:45 minute highlight playing. It must have shown every basket, steal, and rebound they had. Would have been nice to see one showing their fouls (called and uncalled), but that would have to be at least 25 minutes long.:lol:
