Let's hope it's a roaring fire. Figure gonna be harder to get us a coach with Phil and holly friendship. He needs to encourage her to retire. Always be a lady vol legend and a VFL. Don't wait till she loses what little respect she has left.

Well, I was at this 'game'. Just a horrible display of basketball proficiency, on both sides!

If we continue to play like this again just terrible teams we aren't going anywhere in the post season. Sad, just sad.

Russell and Nared play beautiful today and did what they were supposed to do. Zero turnovers and both shooting over 50%. Excellent play! The rest of the team didn't come to play and that hurt us. Glad to leave the ugly gym with a win.

Yeah he,s not firing her .anytime soon unless something major happens. She will win just enough so fulmer won’t have to make that difficult decision. Hopefully holly will make fools out us and become the coach we need and want before fan base deteriorates even more. I think lady vol basketball used to break even in athletic budget. Think that’s over for now.

Have always had a tough time when playing at rivalry Vandy...Vandy always put all heart into that interstate matchup...LV's do also, but Vandy seems to want it more and waits all season to play at home against us...GO LVFL

Yes we did and they must be Holly’s relatives or they are on crack or cocaine or both. Holly is second to none as a coach, that is just a ridiculous statement. One minute they are choosing the Lady Vols to win the SEC tournament and the next few minutes they are saying the Lady Vols are not NCAA tournament ready. I wouldn’t place much stock in what these two were trying to sell.

Holly’s defense is way too soft in the middle. Hayes will be better as she gets more experience, however, she is getting defeated on the dribble drive. Russell should be our major rim defender but she is slow to react on a lot of drives to the middle. We have to toughen up the middle or we will not make it past the second round of the SEC tournament. I thought Holly was a defensive specialist.

I was at the game and it was painful to watch. We have very little offensive flow and set very few screens especially compared to vandy.

Davis zones out a lot and just plays lazy at times.

Is this team afraid to take a charge?

A win is a win . On to the next game!

I miss the aggression and passion that Pat instilled in her teams.

There will never be another Pat.

I sure do miss her.

Just glad Tennessee won, and I guess that'll be the only thing that matters going forward.

Now, in a couple of weeks if they are beaten by Alabama for the fourth consecutive time I may too disgusted to care at all after that, but for now, GLV.

That 4th quarter was the BOMB!

Annie zooming on the court. She's so Quick! I love that part of her game.

Mercedes is in a groove. Her scoring output is always on point. She has consistently given the LVs at least 16pts a game. And Jaime is just an all around player. When she's on and that's most of the time Nared will fill up a stat sheet.

Forgetabout the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters. It's that 4th Quarter where all the action is at.

Good Game Lady Vols!

Holly You Can Relax Now < You're Only Good As Your Last Win. :alien:

Your point is well taken. I do not know why Holly can not teach her players to stop the drive up the middle. I know you can not stop everything. However, stopping the middle drive for easy layups should be of the highest priority in any good defensive strategy. The LV players seem to watch the ball and not the lanes on defense. This is a laymen's viewpoint.

And this is the sad tale of the LVs. CHW lacks the ability to motivate her all of her players to play their "A" game at least ninety percent of the time. The freshmen did not come to play with the possible exception of Hayes.

Do not have exact count of "bunnies and free throws they missed " but it was a bushel basket of both.Reminded me of seasons 2015,2016 and 2017 in that regard.
The freshmen seem to have hit that proverbial "wall ".Westwood has had 5 bad games in a row....maybe she is injured with all that tape on her leg is really affecting her .Davis has not played well for awhile either ...just do not believe that many plays are being run for her on offense to take advantage of her skills.

Hope that some of defensive ills ,free throw shooting ,and layup making is worked on hard this week and they show some improvement in all of the above against ARK Thursday.
One final point ....do not understand why Holly took off the full court pressand started dropping back in a zone when the press had resulted in multiple turnovers .This team plays best in forcing a fast paced game.....They did not play good defense in the zone and it let Vandy back in the game.

Well onward and upward .Hope they play much better against Arkansas at their place ....on road games have been a struggle all year no matter who they play.

Maybe they don't want to risk concussions? Think Jazmine Jones. Concussions cut her career at TN short. That's why I don't like flopping.

Westbrook seemed to be favoring that leg all game with some impairment of her lateral mobility and was limping at the end of the game. Did Holly address this in the post-game press conference?
