Game Thread Lady Vols at Wichita State

Tonight's game should not tell fans much. The opponent isn't good enough to compete with anyone this year. The telling games with be the next two against Stanford and Oregon State. They can both take Tennessee out of its comfort zone and dictate the pace and style of play.

Correct. This game will be East Tennessee State-like.

I just hope the team doesn't waste the opportunity to improve their overall offensive flow and movement.

I think it's tempting in these easy games just to overwhelm the opposition with talent, but they should be seriously using it to fully prep for their west coast games.

Dunbar and Moore are going through the warm ups at full speed. Nared has no cast but is not. Middleton still in a boot.

Warlick has bad karma in every way. I have never seen a team with so many injuries. I watched the Vols for many, many years and seldom an injury and never a concussion; now, we have a head problem every year--Jones can't go 5 games without hurting her noggin. We've got players who don't even play much in boots...Two years ago Massengale gets slapped in the face and for some reason needs 5 months to recover when NFL players are back on the field in two weeks. Russell arrives and needs surgery on both feet; DeShields shows up at UT with shingles; Nared breaks her hand before the season even starts. A delicate bunch. Jody Adams, Wichita State coach, seems to have Warlick's luck--6 players! No wonder they are friends.

Ain't that the truth. It's another one of those things I can't prove it's the coaching staff but it can't be pure luck at this point either.

I would say there are no more than 1200 people here and it's still louder than TBA is.

I count at least three turnovers from trying to force the ball inside in just the first few minutes of play.
