Hayes, Westbrook, Davis, Nared. They shoot mainly 15 footers, can't shoot 20 footers.
It was the same story last year with Diamond and what's her name - the transfer.

Hayes makes her living at the free throw line and driving the lane. Westbrook seems to prefer to drive the lane as well and likes to use the floater. She doesn't seem confident in her midrange but her evaluations say that is part of her game. I could buy Davis as a true mid-range player w/ the way she works the short corner and Nared won't be back so I wouldn't count her. So it's more bad spacing and poor overall shooting percentages than anything I guess. Next year will be different. They will have to adapt w/o Russell.
This is spot-on! And when thet do shoot them, they miss!
All things pass....This program has gone the way of the Dodo bird...
This program can be salvaged only if the Administration bring in a new aggressive coach who knows the game and knows how to motivate players. Holly said after the game that the players do not deserve the crap thrown at them and I agree 100%. In addition the players deserve better leadership and better coaching. When Oregon State went to the zone we were screwed and tattooed. Holly, as usual did not have an answer. She is constantly being out coached. Holly you are right the players and the Lady Vols deserves better, do the right thing and resign.
"Perfect Storm"
Round II
We'll beat the crap out of anyone as long as we keep remembering how fun it is.
It is win-or-go home basketball.
Win, you don't go home.
Listening?
Of note, today Rick Barnes didn't call a timeout until Q3. He was lulled into waiting for the TV timeout twice. I believe it affected us. The opposing coach burned two TO's to stop our runs. And both worked.
Timeouts are weapons...Not just defense mechanisms.
The first two are for tactic, the second two are for finishes.

I think that the Lady Vols need to rethink a recruiting strategy that seems to value athleticism above all else and, as far as I can tell, doesn't really pay as much attention as it should to basketball skills, basketball IQ, and meddlesome parents. That would be mostly ok (except for the parents part), if the coaching staff seemed capable of developing the skills and smarts, but they don't, with the result that, in games that the Lady Vols have difficulty overwhelming their opponent athletically, they have difficulty finding a way to win, and even over teams that are far less talented/gifted, Oregon State being a case in point.
I think this may be an inheritance from the past, but what worked, say, 15 years ago, doesn't really work today, and it doesn't seem as if anyone on the staff here realizes that. The teams that are very good year-in and year-out (Notre Dame and UConn being the prime examples) have good shooters all over the court and average lots of assists/game. That's not what one sees here, but imo it's what's needed if the Lady Vols are to approach what they were in the (ever more distant) past.
