LV win 10-2 in 8 innings.....aside from the errors.....LV played well moss pitched great now I'm interested in seeing who pitches against South Florida....Erin or Bush

My bad! The did lose one to JMU though. I was watching the ticker at the bottom of ESPN & thought I seen JMU twice with different scores.

5-3 now so we're off to a slow start this season. We're a much better team than what we've showed so far. Shouldn't be losing to some of these times like we have. Fresno State & JMU are no way! I can sort of see ASU. Should win the doubleheader today but you don't know so far with this team.

Fresno State is undefeated, ranked, and defending MWC Champs.......James Madison has only 1 loss to Bama just knocked off undefeated #3 Auburn and will be a top 16 seeded team at the end of the season but you must not follow softball so you wouldn't know any that.....the LV will be fine geez it's a long season

The Fresno State loss was tough but you have to understand they are good and we were traveling three time zones, tough, tough, tough.

Fresno State might be what you said but weren't we in the same boat as they? They weren't ranked ahead of us. JMU might have done some good things too but Lady Vols shouldn't lose these games against inferior talent. Yes, these things happen but we're better than that.

Yeah, it's early in the season but we need to get it together. I'll say it again, we shouldn't be losing to teams like this. We should be 7-1 right now with the only excuse I see for losing is Arizona State.

there's a lot of freshmen playing too,once they get there feet wet and play as a team,they will be all right

JMU has two of the best pitchers in the country!! What about that do you not understand?? They would beat everyone on our schedule right now including the Arizona State team who you keep saying is the only excuse for a loss....by the way we had ASU beat Fresno and JMU not so much just an fyi

Five freshmen started today four batters and a pitcher. I really like Lockman hope she wins that first base job. Pitching has to get better or we'll finish in the middle of the SEC. I really thought Gaffin would be huge on the mound still may be but off the a slow start.

OK! JMU I didn't know was that good. I see that they're ranked 20th & I didn't know that. Sorry about that!

I can't wait to see some of these Lady Vol games on regular TV. Why are all of these early games strictly online viewing? They might as well scrap SEC Network for softball watching. They don't even start showing softball games until March.

I know there's basketball games still going on right now at this time of the year but there is the alternate channel they could use for softball games. Seems cheap way out if you ask me. They created this network for SEC sports. Show them!

I made the trip to Clearwater today with my 16 yo son (he drove...learner's permit) and saw the first 3 complete innings. Kid was *****ing so much about the hard seats and the heat that enjoying the game was impossible. Besides the fact that being a passenger while he drives drives my bp to the sky, it was the unfortunate choice of a sausage dog for lunch at the ballpark that hastened the return home. I was able to watch both the Auburn & Tn games till we left. they were on adjoining fields. James Madison has an excellent team.

Tn had the biggest group of fans but Auburn had several there. I think I'll go back tomorrow and watch till I have to pick up a daughter at the Tampa airport.

I understand your POV. But I want to see them again. Revenge is sweet. UT will improve and hopefully a lot. Besides, is JMU the best team in the country? I don't think so. Those teams are in the SEC and UT has to learn to beat them.

I'm just happy that they stream them myself,if they didn't,we would miss a bunch of games or I would since I have cut the cable,or dish in my case :)

I'm glad they stream these early games too. But, the SEC Network was created for all SEC sports. They could show at least some of these early games. Softball is a sport listed to be covered so why not do it? I know the Lady Vols basketball was under the same situation. Most of their early games were online only. I just think that's silly when you have 2 channels(regular & alternate) to cover sports.

The alternate channel is rarely even used for anything. They don't even need this channel if you ask me because they never use it for anything. They did use it for alternate SEC football games a couple of Saturdays back during football season but I haven't seen a single program on that channel since. This is where they could televise some of these softball games for Pete's sakes. It ain't going to happen though.

I did not see the game of course but in reviewing the stats it appears so far this season's team is a repeat of last season's: Winning games via heavy hitting with the pitching and especially fielding being spotty.

I had assumed the pitching would be much better and still believe it will be but it is bothersome that Gaffin is pitching as much as she is.

I was reserved that the fielding would improve much and it hasn't.

The team that won the world series the past two seasons had the best defense. UT has to get to that point with their defense. Big bats alone won't do it.

Moss, from that photo, looks pretty formidable on the hill. Here's wishing her and Bush, and the other freshman, great UT careers.
