Dude...only two sets of fans have attacked players personally this year....Illinois, and LSU.....now add Tennessee to that list. Lots of class, go have another vodka or 15.

Illinois lost 10-0 what could they comment about ? I guess whatever it was I missed it

Illinois was undefeated going into the game against Tennessee. It was tied up going into the 5th...Illinois fans (actually only a few), started calling out our players by name. Saying things with no class, names etc. So much so that Karen called time out and requested the umpire address it. Stadium officials finally made an announcement, and ushers were called. Tennessee blew up and made their point on the field, as did our fans, with class. You can yell at fans, umpires, coaches and say nearly anything. But when it comes to these kids ....you can criticize ...it's your right. But when you make it personal I garrentee you someone will call you on it....and should.

errors beating UT again today! Davin with a bad throw home and a muff/error on a sinking fly ball to right field and it's a 3 run lead for A&M. :(

Yep...I watch a lot of baseball/softball and I do not understand pitch hitting a .280 hitter for a .480 hitter. To me that was a bad call and hurt us. Players also see and understand those calls....which can discourage them.

tn had bases loaded with 1 out and got nothing!

That pitch that Annie hit out of the park was a very good pitch. She is amazing. The only thing I hate about Annie catching a game is that I don't get to see Hannah. This game today could have gone either way and that one hit made the difference. Way to go Ladies!

There are some players who can hit any pitch anywhere, Shipman is one of them and so is Aldrete...Laren Chamberlain of Oklahoma is another. Scary for pitchers...you just dont have a safe place to go.

If Geathers is gonna play she needs to be the DP she isn't a good fielder. She can hit but can't field.

one play or not doesn't make a player. she might not ever drop another. :)

I hope not but the way she played that one it could easily happen.

I doubt we see an ugly throw like Davin made again don't know what happened there ball must have slipped out of her hand.

If the Weeklys can find a superstar pitcher to go with some of the bats these freshman are swinging we might have one of those teams of destiny similar to Oklahoma before they all graduate. Love what Aldrete did to that pitch.

If Aldrete is healthy for all of her career, she'll rewrite UT record books. The career HR record is currently 51 and she's already hit 10 this year. Also, 5 more this year and she would set a new school record for HRs in a freshman season.

Because with the bases loaded it makes more sense to have a traditional hitter up than a slapper. Though Geathers has a higher average, slapping is less effective with people on base, a slap hit would have resulted in a play at the plate.

Where has all these negative comments (2 or 3 of us), bashing a player for a mistake, come from? I want the players to play a perfect game every time out, but slamming them for a mistake is uncalled for. I know some people can't control themselves, and in that case step away from the keyboard and come back once you've had the opportunity to calm down. I don't mind someone hating on a coach, within reason, because they're getting paid to do their job, but lay off the players! Even I have to take some time to breathe at times, that's when I step away and come back once I'm thinking reasonably. It's okay to mention when someone isn't performing to their normal standards, but breaking a kid down for making a mistake isn't okay. Sorry, if I come off as a jerk, that isn't my intention with this post.

Sorry, for another post, but I understand the emotional involvement that comes with being a fan. That's what makes sports enjoyable and the satisfaction we get once our team has finally succeeded in their (and our) goals. I'll no longer be the poopy head in the room.

Everyone: (Yells and throw trash at Born as he exits the room.)

A few years ago in the WCWS, Bama coach Patrick Murphy lifted an All-American senior slap-hitter for a true freshman power hitter with the bases loaded. The announcers talked like they thought Murphy was certifiably insane. The kid ended up hitting a grand slam.
