I know MD used to do some of those and of course he's pretty good but that was before the SEC network thing. It seems to have affected the radio broadcasts. Haven't heard him do one this year.

Mickey gave up softball to another guy before the 2013 season. The new guy, although I guess he's not new anymore, does them on the radio and the UTSports.com site after SEC play begins each year.

And I think the broadcaster was a student, so I get that--but it was comically bad. It was like he was working the concession stand, would like up every 4 minutes or so, and then say: "There is a Tennessee runner on second." Then three minutes later: "No runs and a runner left on second." He literally would give a one-sentence update and then there would be silence for two minutes, and then he would give say another one-sentence report, and then more silence. I assume you are referring to a real radio broadcast for people in the Ktown listening audience.

Right, during the non-conference schedule, the media relations person for softball does online-only audio in addition to his other in-game duties. Once conference play begins, there is a full-time broadcaster to do the games on radio, which is simulcast online as well.
