That's the lurking problem with our shortened bench.

If we have to ratchet up that kind of intensity to beat an Arkansas, what will we have left come tournament time, when every opponent has upped their intensity from regular season levels?

When this team hits the inevitable wall, I hope fans will praised them for heroic effort instead of kicking the dead mule.

That is certainly a huge part of it as these players must pace themselves when they know they have to play 35 plus minutes. Not having a bench has certainly been a huge factor in many of he losses this season.

Same when they lost to MD in the E8 two years ago. Heroic efforts from Burdick and Graves for the second half of the season had their tanks on empty by the time that MD game rolled around. No excuse for Reynolds or Carter, though.

The change to a zone defense with three minutes left in second quarter was the difference in this game!

Why do you wait for half of the game to be over???? And you lose Narrd with two fouls in the second quarter????? And when Middleton is playing you need to play zone!!!!!

Good decision to change defenses but when the game is half over and we should have beaten them in the first few minutes instead of the last quarter!!!

I'm happy that Holly was smart enough to make the adjustment. But Arkansas really is as bad as their record suggests, so there's not much to celebrate here.

This team is trending downwards! A mediocre SEC team, on the road, played us close going into the 4th. Bottom line, this team is not playing up to the talent level and has not for a long time!! Who is at fault? Holly has to go if this program is going to improve!

I'm just glad to get this W, ugly or not. The inconsistency of this team means no game is a given. If Nared hadn't found her game in the second half, it could have gotten really ugly.

We only win by more if we have different players other than Jackson,Dunbar, and Reynolds on the roster. Look at the stats for those three today versus minutes played. All the scoring was on Middleton, Nared, and Russell because the main talent couldn't play today. If Nared doesn't have a breakout fourth quarter we probably lose this game or it is a nail biter.

Arkansas is not even as good as a "mediocre" SEC team... what is their conference record? 2-12 i think.... doesn't matter what becomes of the undulation which is our team... can be great all star players... we still have coaching of poop quality

Arkansas has been in every game they have played.. it was a good win for us. If y'all can talk crap when we lose to Alabama then celebrate when we beat Arkansas as well we won shut up

Is that a joke? It's because they're both crap teams, who they are supposed to beat.

If you want to throw a parade for beating a 2-11 SEC team, then knock yourself out. Just don't expect a lot of attendees.

She'll work on it this summer

But, I agree, she has to learn to cradle the release and soften it at the glass on a breakaway. There are good drills for this

Arkansas is a hustling team but not a very good team. Today we survived a lot of poor decisions. I can't figure out why we do not take 10 and 15 footers when teams give them to us while they gang up on Russell. Sometimes there are as many as three players sagging on Russell, at least two Lady Vols are, or should be, open. We simply do not consistently play very heady basketball. Thank God that Middleton was hot and Nard found her shot.
