Nunn has the player on her back and Middleton continues to drive to the basket and then dishes it to her for a turnover, give her the ball, it is bound to be a defensive foul
Middleton is out of control most of the time when on the court. Her crazy passing, dribbling, and shooting...totally wreck less with the ball...and Holly apparently doesn't see it! She goes down court and tries to be a one woman show, Harlem Globetrotters style, and shows no focus or desire to play team basketball...
I don't think the brass has the stones to make a change. It's sad
I urge fans of our women's basketball program to write Hart and demand a coaching change. That is the only way to save the program, at this point. I couldn't be more serious--I've already done it.
Just saw that Duke beat SC at home. I looked at the box score and they played 8 players and no not have the supposed talent that we do. Do not use the short bench as an excuse.
As far as the coaching, the game plans seem to be there, but what about adjustments. Also, it does not help that our guard play sucks.
Thanks Mercedes and Jamie for playing hard.
There is no brass to make a decision....there is a lame duck Athletic Director who no longer goes to the office because he will be replaced this month. Then there is also a lame duck Chancellor who has been replaced .I believe that a new Athletic Director will be named soon after the new Lady Chancellor take's office Dec 15.And,as I have stated in this thread and others recently,if David Blackburn is dubbed as the new Athletic Director he may suggest to Holly that she retire at end of this season.
Not to be too negative, but I will say Baylor by 25. Just hope we play hard and improve execution on offense and cut the turnovers.
I didn't even realize that Mompremier, Brown, & Cox shot so poorly (4-24) combined. That first quarter really hurt Tennessee. That is when they had the easiest opportunities but couldn't hit anything. It's crazy Baylor actually didn't even play that well. I watched the game live and am now looking at the stats and man it sure looked like they played much better than these stats look. Jones going off obviously was key but that won't help Baylor long term. I wonder what would have happened had Tennessee been within 5 after the 1st. I'm not saying they would have won but those open baskets going in might have made them play with a bit more fire the rest of the way. DeShields looked so angry and frustrated in that 3rd quarter.
That smaller team was UConn. Everyone struggles to score against them.
McCarty and Higgs will eat up Tennessee's guards. They couldn't do that against a more well-coached UConn backcourt.
I just finished watching my recording of that game Amb. The Conn team almost looked like pigmies compared to Texas' height. The Genome countered (brilliantly?) by pulling one of their smaller starters & put in another big that they used effectively to neutralize Texas' frontcourt. After that move they just kept pulling away. If this is what a 'young' team looks like now, they are going to be pretty good by March.
Good coaching - its something I had almost forgotten how to recognize.
