What benefit is derived by playing against schools like Coker? May as well just put a few traffic cones on the court and play against the cones. When you have 6' plus Div 1 team against a Div. 2 team with a height disadvantage of 6 to 7 inches, with only one decent player (who gets injured and doesn't play the 2nd half), not much benefit is derived.

Not sure why any 3pt shots were taken in this game when all that was necessary was to drive for a layup. Coker on the other hand, was taking a 3 on most every possession, because no one was guarding the shots, (not that guarding was necessary). The freshmen looked good. What's with Simmons? She alternates brilliant plays with bonehead plays. Silly fouls, inappropriate 3's. Glad the exhibitions are over. Now to the real games.

Wild Child is,well the wild child lol lighting in a bottle that one, there called exhibition games for a reason, to me they are a little better than a practice, gets the new players some game experience, like who was it that didn't know where to check in the game at ? lol gives em a little playing together as a team, not much you can read into them

A number of factors, including money, factor in to the choice of opponent in an exhibition game. First, the NCAA has placed limitations on the opponents who can be scheduled. The Lady Vols used to schedule travel teams, who generally consisted of former D-1 players, until the NCAA outlawed them. So now you generally see Div II teams as exhibition opponents. Second, from an economic standpoint, you're going to look for a team in your general area so that the travel expenses are kept to a minimum. If you happen to have a top level D-II team in your area, so much the better. Otherwise you get the best you can get.

As to some differences over a practice with the male practice players, one difference is the actual game conditions, including referees and fans, that you just can't get in practice! I'd be willing to bet that the majority of coaches would tell you that, given the opportunity, they would rather have an exhibition game than not.

As to the 3- point shooting, the Lady Vols just had a cold night. In the game against Carson-Newman, they shot 40% from the three. And that is a good team percentage.

Thanks Cannon, makes sense. No need to be upset about missing 3s. One game doesn't mean anything, even if they went 0 for 12. It happens to every team.

It, also, helps to put the smaller teams on a larger stage to help their program. Even if the get beaten badly, it's still good exposure for them and helps to pump up their program. I think it's good all around for everyone.
