Game Thread Lady Vols vs Florida

She's been putting in extra time on her own...she loves to play and it shows.

It's great to see. We need someone who's enjoying their PT and wants to win.

Totally agree. I feel like it's rare to see a player improve like this during the season. She went from being pretty ineffective against more athletic teams to being a consistent double-figure scoring threat.

She had a mid season slump, but snapped out of it about a month ago and has been very consistent ever since.

Yes she is and I think she is the glue! We have to have her out there, she lifts everyone's play imo

She plays like she's thrilled to have the opportunity to play at Tennessee and doesn't take it for granted. Some of the others act like they deserve to be treated better because they are Lady Vols.

I'd take 5 scrappy, eager players like Nunn over Russell.

I for one have never thought DD was selfish but I really she had taken that shot rather than the pass. Nunn was buried under the basket but ended well!

To me, DD is the type of player that feels a responsibility to put the game on her shoulders. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, yeah that may look selfish to some...when it does, yay DD is awesome!

Florida is really, really, really bad. Those kind of teams find ways to lose and it doesn't matter what needs to happen in order to lose it happens.

But, that was brutal basketball. If some of y'all don't want to fess up to it, that's fine.

But, Tennessee has a different standard when it comes to women's basketball.

And that was trash. Pure trash.

Yeah, worried that if MSU loses to Kentucky (down two with 21 seconds to go), they'll be extra motivated -- and it'll be their senior night.

Imo (and all of the teams I coached) my 5 player (Center) is the person who sets the tone for how we play defense. If they are dominant defensively everyone else feeds off of them. They are usually the last line of defense.

Russell's passiveness hurts us defensively at times, when your get blown by off the dribble while playing zone, you hope to have someone behind you to challenge the shot and many times that happens and Russell is no where to be found or doesn't contest the shot. IF Russell truly gave her all defensively, I think we'd be a much better team

Well actually missed about five was watching Lady Vol softball. Still I know the five I missed wasn't any different than the 35 I watched.

It's MSU's Senior Night. Dillingham is going to be on fire, and Vivians always seems to score at will against UT. It will be a tough test for the LVs.
