Game Thread: Lady Vols Vs LSU; Thurs Jan 9th ; Home game; 6:30 PM Eastern; SEC+ stream

Individuals are going have to recognize Tennessee fans are going have to take the good as well as the bad with Cooper. Great talent and scorer but sometimes a little loose with the handle which causes turnovers...
She has to improve on her TOs otherwise not sure her value is really worth it. Through 14 games she has 51 TOs and the next closest on the team is Whitehorn with 27 TOs. Whitehorn has more minutes than Cooper as well (323 to 308) which makes Cooper's TO ratio even worse.

Fortunate not to be behind by 20 ...Has anyone counted the number of layups we have given up ? It is a bushel full for sure maybe even a bushel and a peck .Against top 25 teams that just can not happen. No defense and very few boards . I was taken to task for saying the lack of defense beat us in Oklahoma game by some posters ....the same thing happening tonite .... layups after layups after layups.....that has to be corrected or this will be a long year.

Latham in the only one with the motor to keep up with her!
We are having problems wherever was afra we would, offense , defense and rebounding in the paint. We also seem tired. We had a good comeback in the second quarter. Now we have to have a similar third quarter, which has not bee our best lately. Third quarter will Kiley determine who wins this game.

Got it down where we have a chance. Have to find an answer for Morrow she is getting uncontested layups and putbacks. Have to get some kind of defense to take the ball out of her hands. Better board play last five minutes wonder where that was for the entire half?
It seemed to be like we adjusted to the physicality of the game. I saw a few plays where we were boxing out but LSU was just way more physical getting to the ball.

LSU is also doing a really good job of limiting our offensive rebounds, in part I think just because they're faster and more athletic and they're able to get to our missed 3s faster than us.

First time I have seen a boxscore where were behind in shots on goal they have 40 to our 35. They are shooting 48 percent to our 42 percent. Just 7 turnovers to our 9. Morrow 8 for 11 and 19 points. Evidently we don't have a player that can guard her. Latham did a job the few times she was on her don't know why we went away from that.

Haven't seen it that much this year, but Cooper playing way to wild and out of control. She needs to play more team ball not try to do to much. They don't mind Ruby taking threes she is not a three point shooter.
Yep. We’ve seen several of our players drive into the lane, keep their dribble while turning their back to the basket, and then get stripped by another LSU defender.

Spearman is still on the milk box. She seems to get in her own head and I saw some players running up to her and trying to head that off. I think she is going to ride the pine in favor of Jill and Latham.

LSU is a LOT more talented than us and we haven't run them enough to wear them down any. We can't afford to have our normal third qtr.

Still really bad shot selection at times. We worked really hard on a couple of possession where Jewel or Spencer passed up a three only for Spearman, Ruby or Puckett to end up taking one. Sometimes your best shot comes earlier in the possession.

And Cooper needs to either drive or give it up. If it isn't there it isn't there.
