Haters going to hate. Alexa is a solid player we're lucky to have and she rarely gets an easy open shot because teams that scout against us make damn sure she doesn't get one.

Ok people we had a whole thread bashing Middleton already started by a troll so let's not turn this one into the same thing!

Who here is worried about getting past Kentucky in the SEC T cause I sure am. Its tough to beat a team 3 times in one season.

That's my main concern right now...assuming KY gets by MS ST in the quarters. It's always a close game with them...and they'll be riding high still from their upset of SC. Hope we can beat them the third time if we have to! I think we can.

I don't hate anyone. Except possibly Geno Aurienema.
I've seen every game WE have played and she usually is wide open for her threes and is only shooting 27%.

Look, I love the Lady Vols.
I love my school.
I am still broken hearted over what Pat is going thru.
I am rooting my heart out that Holly and the staff can bring in the caliber of talent to beat that piece of filth at Uconn.
I'm thrilled about Diamond playing in Orange next year.
And, I want to be wrong about Middleton.
But, from what I've seen this year, I think it would benefit both her and us if she transferred.

I just recently joined this site after years on the Summitt until it went to a paid site. Yes, I'm cheap.
I enjoy discussing strategy, player development, and the women's game (since I have worked in marketing it).

So, please...as a fellow Vol, please lay off labeling someone as a troll, hater, or whatever when they disagree with you.
A few of you did that by rightfully just stating your opinions that you think Middleton will get there and is worth the wait and the scholarship. I appreciate those responses.
I really really hope you are right and I'm wrong.
Because I love everyone in Orange and can't wait for number nine.
I want Pat to see us hoist another banner and for our hometown girl Holly to get her first very soon! :clapping:

I'll be surprised if KY beats Mississippi State. KY recently lost 3 games in a row - lost by 14 points to us, by 12 points at home to TAM, and by 8 on the road against Ole Miss. They then beat Arkansas on the road but only by 5. They are a hit or miss team that seems to miss a lot when they aren't at home. At home they beat Mississippi State in 2 overtimes. Mississippi State will have a bye and get to play a rematch (assuming KY wins) against Kentucky at a neutral site.

But regardless, we will play a Missouri/Georgia game that could be dangerous. If we win that, whoever we play next won't be easy and neither will the championship for whichever two teams are fortunate enough to advance.

But, as long as we don't face Arkansas, the games are at a neutral location or maybe small home court advantage depending on how well our fans travel. I like our chances if we play as we are capable.

Kentucky can be very good and they can be very bad. To be honest I don't want to play them but if we do we will just have to whoop their ass again.

The SEC Tourney is an undefined season for sure. I have witnessed teams playing far above their normal abilities so many times. And then the next day a different team onthe floor. The LadyVols have always taken the tourney seriously. We can be confident they will give it their all. And I will add the X factor in close games - the particular referees on the floor and how a game is called when it is close and a few minutes remain. (those of you who write about coaching - that is when the need to communicate with the team is important).

Missouri gave the Lady Vols a lot of Pure Misery in Knoxville when they played. Harrison was especially miserable in that game.

I have been discouraged about Alexa's play ever since the McDonald's game. First, she WON both the skills contest and the three point shooting contest. GREAT!! But then in the game she continually dribbled into traffic and turned the ball over. Again and again. That was if she didn't throw the ball away. She has done the same thing many times this year. HOWEVER, I remember both the coaches and other Lady Vols saying preseason that no one practiced any harder than Alexa. I had forgotten that when I made some posts about her poor play. She's making honest mistakes, not mistakes from lack of effort or try. So I am going to shut down my critical comments and give her another year to get going at top D1 level. Protect the ball Alexa. Play smart. I know you've got it in ya.

If we play Missouri got to get out on a couple of three point shooters that is their main way to score. Georgia not as big a worry from the three. I think Missouri beats them and were in for a tough game.

Moriah Jefferson had a highly forgettable regular season during her freshman year, but then turned it on in the post-season. And she was regarded as the best freshman PG in her class.

Alexa was not as highly ranked, and it's no surprise that she's struggling to adapt to the college game. But there's no reason to think that after a year under her belt, she won't be a much improved player next year. She may lack athleticism compared to some of the other top players, but she's highly skilled. I expect her to be a significant part of the rotation as this season winds down and into next year.

Yeah, they know they have to win a few games or it is no NCAA games. Apparently, the last time they missed out on the NCAA was about 20 years ago.

From the last few years of watching the LVs play UGA and MIZZO, I would rather them play GA than MIZZO. It appears that UGA came to play this time.

LVs gonna play the Lady Dawgs tomorrow. Lady Dawgs played a good game. Hopefully, MIZZO wore them out!

georgia has got a better team than their record, are getting better. We will have to play well.
