They need consistency. Right now, only Harrison is bringing it every game. They need some consistency out of their backcourt...otherwise, the minute Tennessee runs into a team with a post game to contain Harrison, then they will lose big.
Northwestern's players averaged 5'8". They were less athletic, much slower, less talented. Their lack of physical conditioning prevented them from sustaining a high level of play in the second half. The LV advantage in every area should have put them ahead by 25 at the half. Not a good start to the tournament. Tennessee won because they were taller and "out-athleted" their opponent. That won't work in their next game and beyond. They need to play basketball, not street ball, if they want to get back to the FF. Unbelievable how many layups they missed....

To me the problem with the LVs game is a total lack of fundamentals. This is a coaching problem. The players are skilled but don't know how to use their skills effectively. The coaches have no control over the players. They haven't prepared the players mentally to cope with the pressures of playing in the tournament. The coaches act more like friends than coaches.
The ESPN whip around coverage (I was in Vermont) showed the first half then went to other games. Only those in Tennessee and LV fans who tuned in via other outlets saw the 2nd half. That means most of the nation was exposed to a terrible image of what Tennessee basketball is like. Northwestern looked bad too, but that was expected.
Yes. Poor shot selection, wrong person shooting, poor ball movement. All coaching issues. Those highlight videos never show the bad plays. So, shooting 22% in the first half is a coaching problem? The girls were totally flat for some reason. Don't even try to put that on the coaches. They still come up with sloppy passes for TO's and that can be put on coaching.
