That is lovely Gule but I have been watching the Lady Vols since before there was an NCAA. I know what my eyes tell me. It doesn't mean she won't get better. It just means she isn't going to get in game like this one until she gets more reliable.

wow.... it's embarrassing to watch the difference in how they run a half court offense compared to what we run in the half court. We don't have any plays that get us the easy layups. We almost have to play perfect in order to beat teams as talented as us.

That is often the case in women's basketball. Put Diggins on our team and we win. Put her on theirs and they win. Same when Candace was here or Moore was at Uconn.

I would just like to have another post and 40 minutes of effort. That would have likely been enough for us to win as well.

Why would massingale take the ball to a place she cant so amything but turn it over Crap drives me crazy.

This is one of the worst games I've ever seen from Ariel. How many passes did she have stolen tonight?

She has been in a funk lately with several poor games as far as being a floor general. Her outside shot has gotten better but she was a real liability at times in this game and the last one.

Good game for our team we can play a lot better than this but the best thing is we kept fighting and didn't give up.

Exactly. ND's half court offense is MUCH better than ours! We are poorly coached--half court offense not good enuf to be good teams. We pass the ball to someone and stand around and watch them go one on one. This is why Spani can't score against better teams; same with Simmons. Massengale is not aggressive enough; she didnt make Diggins work hard enuf on defense. If she had, Diggins wouldn't have had the energy to destroy UT with her offense late in game. Bad coaching. ND is not more talented-- just better coached, better fundamentally.

Massingale will see the bench a lot when Carter comes back next year. PG position let us down today. This game showed us what a special player Graves is and the team looks positioned to make a big move the next couple of years. They have more fight in them than last years bunch. It was a tough loss but they fought hard. The only problem was they went brain dead at times.

And that's why I wanted to see Phillips up against Diggins. SHe is as big, has energy to make Diggins tire out. ND wouldn't know how to play against her, And she could not possibly play as bad as Ariel.. lol

izzy was a big loss and then only having to play 6 players was not good...glad burdick is coming back it will put us back at 7 for the rest of the season..hoping izzy just has a sprain and not torn an acl, mcl, pcl, or lcl....but as we have seen time and time again this lady vol team doesn't quit and will fight to the end

Don't get me wrong, I am very proud of how this team came back with under 10 to go. They didn't give up and I applaud them for that. However, they have got to learn to play smarter. They had way too many turnovers tonight and it cost them the game. I think in another 2-3 years we are going to be really good but as a fan, it's difficult to wait.

McGraw schools our coaches, plain and simple. How many layups did they get off the high post screen? 20? We cut the lead to 5 or 6 with three minutes left and they ran that play and got another layup! Then Diggins hits a trey--game over. Massengale is a better player than she knows. She Could be great, with her body and skills, taking ball to the basket, but she doesn't do it! She has to be more assertive. UT is talented but lacks the coaching to win bug games.

Spani can't rebound with the bigs, can't create her own shot, and is slow. But she plays and a mobile 6'3" long armed post sits all freaking night? Just fuggin awful

but we had a 5' 10 guard who could sitting all freaking nite. :loco:

Taber has been very good the last few games, especially since she had to pick up the slack after Cierra went down. Tonight just wasn't her night. ND played great defense on her and even when she did get an open look it didn't fall. Unfortunately, it was just an off night for her. Hopefully she'll find her rhythm again for the next game.
Regardless of height, I'd much rather have Taber in the game than Nia.
