If we go up and beat ND at South Bend or at least play a close game and not get blown out and do well in the SEC then I'm feeling a lot better about Holly.

She passed it out a lot against Stanford, because they doubled her and she had too. If Graves were a better scorer, Harrison could play more from the high post--where she can utilize her jumper and her ability to drive--and get the ball down low to Graves. But Graves can't be counted on to make shots. She can draw fouls, which can be just as good. But we remain far too dependent on Harrison--mainly, I suppose, because Harrison shooting a contested shot is probably as good as anybody else taking an open shot. I thought Carter played well today--though her shooting is still problematic. She is quick and she DOES have good form on her jumper, so I think it's just a confidence issue with her. She gets open looks, she simply HAS to start making more of them. Middleton had nice game, too, though I think she will struggle defensively against good guards. Did Jones play today? I wonder why not. We won this game at the foul line.

Yes, if Carter is not shooting threes but mainly relies on driving the ball that is her bailiwick. She is a tenacious defender. Jones must have problems with her concussion. I wish Middleton had gotten off a couple threes. I just don't see the problem with her defense others do. She keeps her player in front of her.

Only 7 assists today. The Vols will not beat Notre Dame with only 7 assists. Basketball is a team sport, which means the ladies need to start playing offense as a team and pass the ball.

Today was a gritty performance by a determined Lady Vol team.Defense was not as good as Rutgers or Stanford games,but was much better in the second half.Of course,the opponent had something to do with that. Offense was not static,but could have been sharper. Our Ladies played hard all game and should savor this win while working on improvement. Congratulations,Lady Vols!

Yes their passing has been problematic all season. How do you score 73 points with only 7 assists? I guess just all the foul shots and too much one on one. They need to be up around 20 assists per game.

Here's a shout out to Cierra Burdick - she shot well, got a steal, blocked a shot - she's had 2 really good games here as the opposition gets tougher.

And another shout out to the defense. It must have been tough to cover for the loss of Jasmine Jones, but the guards did a good job on defense, especially Draya.

Also, big thumbs up to Middleton -- after that steal she single-handedly uncorked, she stuck to #24 like glue and seemed to disrupt her for most of the second half.

It's nice to see all the positive comments. LV's did a good job on defense and shutting down the 3's in the 2nd half. We had several clean blocks that were called as fouls. Crowd response was obvious. Saw a lot of hustle tonight. Someone asked about attendance. It was reported as 11,000+. Looking around, I'd say that was close. Good crowd, as always. Someone needs to tell Holly to wear a blouse or sweater with no buttons.:)

It was an important win for our confidence. Was at the game and noticed these things.

1. Energy was hit and miss at times. The upside about that...when we didn't have the energy, our play was 'ok'. If we can get them to compete 100% of every play...wow
2. Free throws free throws free throws.
3. Penetrating defense has to get tougher.
Izzy had great defensive presence, but the guards still have room for improvement.
4. Holly made enough half time adjustments to win the game and the crowd was behind her.
5. We won't win a NC if we can't shoot the three. Our game against ND will expose this, luckily we have time to fix this.
7. I love the atmosphere at TBA from the fans. Had a wonderful time and the 2nd half looked a lot better.

I thought the second half adjustment to stop the perimeter shot was really the difference in the game. Great half time adjustment by Holly and staff for sure. I agree with you that there were a few calls there were simple blocks, but as usual to many anticipation calls. Holly really has this team clicking and the team chemistry has improved greatly. I'm really looking forward to SEC play though!!

It seems our guards get blown by easily because they don't play with a wide enough base. When they go around a screen they stand straight up instead of staying low.

When Cierra stays with what she does well she is excellent.

best player in the game in Parker, who had no trouble bringing the ball up the court and could do it all, plus a defensive beast in Anosike. Our titles had little to do with great passing. If you've watched UT for any length of time, you would know that we've played ugly offensive basketball for AGES.

Nia played 4 minutes in the 1st half and damn but I never even noticed until watching the replay later. so ashamed...... :(
