Just boggles the mind how she’s been able to carve out a role in this system but not Puckett.

I think part of it is that we've gotten away from the hockey shift system that allows for us to press hard all 40. If you could get 20-minute Cooper level of effort out of 30-minute Cooper, then you'd take it, but you just don't. Several players thrive on being able to have maximum energy, and keeping them in the game more seems better in theory than it ends up being in practice.
