Game Thread: SEC FINAL; Lady Vols Vs SOU CAR...Sunday 3PM...ESPN

The ultimate integrity challenged refs maxed it out on the jump ball call after the body blow put on RJ waived off. Fully evidenced by only 2 fouls on SC in a very physical game. They did not decide the game, they did ruin one. We made too many mistakes and they made too many plays to change history. But the refs really stunk it up.

Lost by 16 and it didn't look bad. We challenged and pushed this team. But they separated themselves with their 6'8" player and ours is out for the year. I know we have to play with who we have but it's tough knowing the best defensive player in the conference is sitting on the bench unable to play. Sigh*

Side note: SC has 7 conference titles to put that in perspective TN has 17... that makes you really appreciate what Pat did

Also several players who stunk it up with their shooting.

Well, per HHS South Carolina was the 16-point favorite, and there it is.

Again, Stanford is the only team projected to play South Carolina within single digits on a neutral court (69-60). They aren't unbeatable, but I would be SHOCKED if they didn't roll through to an NCAA championship this year.

Playing SC again only strengthens our hold on having the #1 SOS. We were competitive in a hostile environment, didn't get blown out. I think we've done enough to show in the last few weeks that we are a team that can compete for a Final Four. It's going to be SO close with those 4-5 seed placements.

IMO you gotta make a lot of threes--at least 8--to stay with this South Carolina team--and shoot well overall. We don't make enough threes--period.
That's going to be a problem against quality teams in the NCAA.

I thought the first quarter was a positive for us: SC made almost everything and yet we were only down 2. But then you think about it: We were mostly hitting outside shots, they were scoring regularly in the paint. We're probably going to cool off before they do, and that's what happened.

Charlie Cremes projection are never right. His opinion hasn't been right in 20 years.
The net, SOS, and the eye test is what matters to the Committee. Charlie will be saying, "I just don't understand" like he does every year. He is entertainment value only!

You can’t look to pass when no one is moving!

Jax was wide open on Walker's drive to the 6'7' tree. No vision, no sense or both... choose your poison, it's happened all year.

We can say they beat us underneath, but their guard play was 1000 times better on O than ours.
And Dawn has depth so there is no way she can look stupid on substitutions. Us... choose your poison.

If the game was called right, it would be a 10 point game but we definitely need to upgrade the roster especially the guards
Yep our guard play is not going to cut it. We need a huge upgrade outside. We need some ball handlers that can score and also create shots for others. We are several lacking at quality guard play.

EIther the players or the AD need to have an intervention with Kellie over her substitution patterns. That crap has to stop. She yet again took a competitive game and turned it into one we had no chance to win.

And we should have tried to score on that last possession because those numbers go into the algorithms which help determine seeding.

The girls played hard and battled back despite being put in bad positions with the musical chair substitutions. No shame in losing to the best team in the country. Let's see if we can make this new level of performance our baseline in the NCAA instead of our ceiling.

13 free throw difference. It’s how the game is played today. Adapt get atriplin and Puckett in pickup street ball that’s todays style.

Stanford lost you know to UCLA on neutral court. So I dont know if they can beat SC either.

Look it’s not about substitution patterns she knows her team, the problem is the roster.
