So much to love. Best D I've seen them play in a long, long time in the second half. KJH just said the lockdown D helped lead to the most miraculous stat of the season - ONE t.o. in the second half after 9 in the first. Able to get out in transition. Still didn't shoot very well, just 38%. Really stepped it up on the boards in the second half though.
Horston had maybe her best all around game as an LV. She played very much under control and within the game. She presents a scoring threat just by her presence on the floor which is huge, whether she actually scores or not. Had only 1 t.o. with 6 pts, 6 rebs, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals. She played excellent defense in the second half also. Hooray!
So happy for KK, very good job by the coaches of taking advantage of a game in which she could be successful and she really stepped up. She will always have her liabilities, but she has made several key baskets for us lately when we badly needed offense.
Rae's points were so crucial especially b/c Davis was struggling. Everyone contributed - Key with 8 pts, Jaz as always with a steady handle and a huge key bucket, Lou being the human Visa card. Would love to see Lou get a hot hand from 3 and see Jaz have confidence to be more aggresive offensively.
Congrats to KJH, this was a huge step forward. I really like that it was a strong comeback after a slow start. We almost never get better as the game goes on.
Now how are we going to defend Howard?
