Not many good coaches these days then cause other than South Carolina everyone has lost games they should've won. That is now the parity that has arrived. The sign of a great coach is always having players play above their ability, caring about the team, being physical, etc. Harper couldn’t coach a 5 year old out of a paper bag if she had water and scissors on the sideline. And let’s just forget about the paper bag putting up a fight, cause she wouldn’t know how to call a timeout to regroup. She’s awful…period.
She did and most of the work is recruiting players cause when you get the best top 10 or no lower than top 20 makes coaching a breeze. Still she took one of the most talented teams in history and lost to Iowa which was far less talented with only one player to stop. Not disagreeing, she turned a program around by recruiting, coaching and elevating. She wasn’t handed a quick fix, she was handed bottom of the barrel. Now she can reap the work
Great players, like Catch and CP do not necessarily make great coaches.Another l.......She's been up there for 5 years and not 1 reg season championship or tournament chanmpionship but yet Holly Warlick produced 2 reg seasnon titles plus a tourney title in 7 years and got fired.....and with a better win percentage overrall...72%...Time to pass the baton to another former lady vol with maybe like Tamika Catchings or Candence Parker....
She took her players off the court when they were playing LSU. LSU played theirs all the way through and in the fourth quarter had nothing left or fouled out. Players must have rest and she wasn't out that long. She played well over 30 minutes nothing unusual about that.
I’d rather lose to Iowa and CC, than what Kellie has shown so far. I believe we can agree on that. She did and most of the work is recruiting players cause when you get the best top 10 or no lower than top 20 makes coaching a breeze. Were not a real good team wouldn't be no matter who was coaching. No post players and point guards not good enough. The reality is we may or may not make the tourney and either way were not going very far. Still I have patience with the process and let the people that actually have the decision make that decision without becoming a raving lunatic or making personal comments about the coach. She hasn't done the job we need I can agree. I still like Coach Kellie as a person and a VFL and am sure Danny White will handle everything in the way he determines is best. Not even 50% thru the SEC yet
This is the thing they know that we don't know. Resting Jewel and Rickea in the first quarter had zero to do w this loss. They combined for 45 pts for God's sake. That little rest obviously didn't slow Jewel down.and when they need rest.
If everyone else had played as well as Rickea and Jewel we wouldn't be sitting here with a loss. This is the thing they know that we don't know. Poor defense, bad offensive rebounding, no help fm the post game, and a more shaky game than usual fm JP hurt us today. Plus Rickea being bottled up the second half and getting zero calls. Actually, after a great first qtr, Rickea only getting 3 shots the second qtr was a really bad sign. We have to keep playing thru her, need to screen for her on the block. Jewel's big game offset alot of Rickea getting stopped though, so that wasn't the main problem.
Actually, GOOD women basketball is beating NBA in ratings. VOLS use to be the best of the best. Most UT fans don't give a crap about LV basketball. Doubt there are that many drive-bys. This thread has 18 pages... Men's game has nearly 50.
People are just fed up with mediocrity; any die hard fan should be too. If you think that was an acceptable performance, you're delusional.
You don’t understand, you have to follow the preplanned rotation….Not true. Dawn would not have taken Jewel Spear off the court in the 1st qtr when she was scoring at will.. facilitating the offense and playing defense.
People it’s a known fact when a player is hot you don’t take the ball out of their hands or sit them down. You coach this in practice, so the players know, every game is made harder than it has to be.
Spear scored 30 and could’ve easily went for 40 but the coaching and some one on one basketball from other players took her out the game.
With Dawn coaching this is an easy win for Tennessee.

So if they don't give Jewel a quick rest early she what, scores 40? Obviously, that rest did not hurt jack. But there's no use arguing.I don’t care how you phrase it.. the momentum was loss the moment they started to substitute mid way through the first quarter for no reason.
This is a sport not rocket science.
You are wrong as usual and making a basic decision about your personal feelings.
I think they never got started. I still say LAZY is the word that describe these players. Lazy passes, lazy defense, lazy rebounding. Ole Miss was just the opposite. They played with intensity the entire game while we basically stood around and watched them get every loose ball, rebound and were much quicker in their drives to the basket.Looked like the players quit.
Well evidently Tennessee is not as invincible as you have been saying for so long here. You said 1 through 11 we are elite so we can't bring in one elite player to replace another. Yes Dawn would've taken her out she took Cardoza out the other night for the end of the first quarter and part of the second.I don’t care how you phrase it.. the momentum was loss the moment they started to substitute mid way through the first quarter for no reason.
