Game thread - Vols vs Gators - 2pm EST CBS

UT needs this one, they need a first day bye in the sec tourney. I still think UT can get a 6 seed by winning out, and playing well in the tourney.

It is hard for me to see any SEC team other than this somewhat surprising LSU team to do any better than a 7. And given what are likely to be tough match-ups for any SEC team that does make the tournament, I am going to be very surprised to see any SEC representation in the second weekend.

With half the field being from the Big East this year, you might not see any SEC teams on Saturday or Sunday of the first weekend.

I agree with that. Tennessee has two distinct teams that take the floor on any given game day. The lethargic and lackadaisical team that doesn't give a crap and the balls to the wall, 100 mph team that likes to win.

I meant, in no particular order: 1) front court; 2) size underneath (see #1); 3) overall athleticism and talent; 4) tempo; 5) confidence; 6) execution; 7) composure.


I suppose one could make a case that #7 tends to wax and wane for UT, but so far this year, when things have been tight at the end, the Gators are basically 0-for-5 and I see no reason to expect that suddenly they are going to start closing out games very well.

Listening to you, I would feel good about these guy's, except I have seen every game they played. Still, I keep hoping there is just one piece missing, that when they find it, they will catch fire. Today's game would be a good time play a complete game.
