Game Thread: Winthrop v Lady Vols, Sun Dec 29th ; Home game; 2 PM Eastern; SEC+: win 114-50

Have we really only hit 7 threes? Feels like more than that for some reason.

Hitting 30 threes in one game was truly absurd.

Most of the threes came early in the first quarter. Haven’t been shooting or hitting as many since. And scoring pace has significantly slowed in the second quarter.

Brian Rice just mentioned this appears to be largest crowd so far this year…for Winthrop. It is a Sunday afternoon game…

This is accurate even on TV it is easy to see that the crowd is really good today.
Tennessee has been good in attendance for sometime and this season it has started to separate itself from good to one of the best in WBB in attendance.
Look at the LV crowd today in this game while viewing the crowd at SC vs Wofford.
Pretty much the same.

I don’t know why you’re putting a number to it.
I’m currently watching UT vs Winthrop and SC vs Wofford. The crowds at both games are very close in attendance. SC probably will have more fans reported in attendance but on TV it looks pretty dang close.
Same as with the ND vs Virginia game.

I don’t know why you’re not. Have to set goals. Being #1 in attendance again should be the goal and that’s usually 14,000+

28 points allowed is a bit too much. Safeties need to adapt and start playing a bit further back, Winthrop isn't letting us get away with it like every other team on our schedule has.

32 points is nothing when you’ve played 11 players an equal number of minutes.
Tennessee has 61 points at halftime. UCONN right now in the 3rd qtr vs Providence has 47 points.

In the 1st half, Georgia Tech allowed 28, LSU allowed 38, South Carolina 22, and Ohio State 25.

Winthrop's coach has done a good job of spreading the minutes. Only two girls -- #3 and #12 -- played for almost the entire half.

Cooper only played 6 minutes. Tennessee was +11 for those 6 minutes, and only +18 for the 14 minutes Cooper wasn't on the court.

Puckett played 10 minutes, with Tennessee being +20 while she was out there. +9 while she was on the bench.

We didn't hit a single three in the 2nd quarter, was still able to get 26 points out of a three-less 2nd QTR. Not completely one-dimensional. :p

We were over pressing let them break us for four or five baskets. Were going to need to pull that back quicker against SEC teams.

Well, we're playing a team in the bottom 25 in offense in the country. They only got 39 points against Georgia Tech in 40 minutes. I'd be thrilled with 28 points against A&M, but Winthrop has gotten their 28 points way too easily.
You'll give the other team a lot more chances as fast as we run. And of course a few more bunnies with a full court press. That's the way we play, we'll get the turnovers and give up bunnies when you don't.
