How deflating this must be to the Gamecock faithful.  I mean to get a big name coach like Spurrier to come to town and automatically think it is going to be the 2nd coming of the Gators success from the 90's, and then BAM . . have the mess of the dearly beloved Lou thrown all over your cake.  This must really be a bad nightmare for them.  Especially since they have not shared this much spotlight on their program in such a long time.  Is ESPN not doing some kind of on-site pregame for their home opener?  At least they will have something other than Spurrier to talk about.

They will get hyped up. They will beat UCF by three TD's and ESPN will act as if they just went and upset a top 15 team. Then watch as they get their behinds handed to them in three of the next four games.

Just saw an interview with Spurrier about this. He was on the golf course with his visor turned around backwards, wearing sunglasses and said, "We'll end up having to give the NCAA a couple of schalarships, but we've got guys at SC who should have never been on schalarship anyway, so it ain't no big deal." :laugh1:

I don't care what anybody says, it's worth it to have him back just for the sound bites.

I just heard on 104.5 here in Nashville that Spurrier pulled 6 scholarships for current players on the team. Are they going to have enough to have a team this Fall?

Things are getting really messy.
