Gameday will be in Knoxville

i would expect with Herbie calling the Saturday night ABC games, that Game day will be at fewer SEC games in the future...they might still go, but it would be dependent upon Herbie being able to get to the Saturday night game on ABC in time to call that game....

i wish some other network (CBS???anyone? anyone?) would put together a rival gameday pregame show....

Actually, him calling the ABC game is dependent on whether or not Gameday is at that site. Gameday gets first priority over the ABC night game.

either way, it basically eliminates CBS games...ABC has contracts with the ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 10.

And herbie calls the ABC Saturday night game...it makes no sense for him not to be at the game that he is calling the day of the game, hence Gameday will make more appearances at those games than other top tier games of the week.

if it were strictly on the "game of the week", i'd think they'd be in Auburn Saturday for a top 10 matchup...

CBS (Can't Broadcast Sports) is totally clueless. If they were smart, they would do this, but they aren't smart.

CBS would have to get some big names for the show... I think it would be a good idea for them to do so though.

Just goes to show you that if you not a big 10 team or USC or Notre Dame, you are not ever going to get your due. The SEC is having two major matchups this week and they are covering the USC trojans playing a team that beat pitt last year 9 to 6 at home. They are there for one purpose. So USC wins by 30 and ESPN can spend the evening talking about how great the NFL reject is a genuis.

I kind of feel like Gamday wants to take a look at the possible national championship teams early in the season. They are probably nodding to the fact that the SEC will just beat itself up as usual and not send anyone to the title game. They will have looked at ND, OSU, Texas ... and I'm sure they'll be at WVU/Lousiville...although that isn't early in the season. Or....is it just the ABC/Herbstreit factor??

If TN and LSU are undefeated when they play Gameday could come to K-ville then. I don't know what other games are going on that Saturday, though.

ESPNtv.com

This is the college gameday link on espn.com. They are already showing gameday being in LA for the USC/Nebraska game.

ESPN has no love for TN. this is the biggest game of the day. Not to mention they also passed over the LSU/Auburn game.

USC/NEB over two huge Sec games. Nice. I would rather see them at the Miami/Louisville game than USC/NEB.

Riddle me this Batman: Why does anyone think ABC/ESPN would hype a game that is being shown opposite its big national game? To do so would be the height of stupidity. The Mickey Mouse folks are simply making a sound business decision.

exactly my point....i would only expect gameday to be on an SEC campus where ESPN had a big ticket night game in primetime, and that may not be enough since Herbie is calling the ABC primetime games now....

Another one: If you all hate ESPN so much, why do you act like jilted high schoolers when they don't come to our campus? I would think you'd be glad they're not coming to the Hill.

they're the #1 sports network in this country and they ignore a certain group of people.

you REALLY should stop playing the devil's advocate.

I'm with you Jake, who cares..
yeah, it's not like i can walk down to TBA anymore and heckle corso or anything...it's all about contracts and advertising...10 years ago it was about the "big game". now that it's not, it's kind of a cheapened product.

Who do they ignore? How many UT games have they done over the years? Who did they seek out to play on Sunday night two years ago? The idea they neglect covering UT is ridiculous.
