Not sure why we would want Bama to beat OU. If they lost that one, we would have beaten Bama and the two teams they lost to besides us. We just need to move up one spot. All of this assuming a Vandy win which is the only scenario in which we're still in the picture.

Agree - Bama loses to OU they have 3 losses, and they are falling out of the top 12.

Very interesting list. Not sure how Wofford beating South Carolina would be in our best interest.

This is all about eliminating SEC teams so that the group of SEC teams with 2 losses dwindle to 4. Then two of those 10-2 teams meet in the championship game - one gets eliminated with their 3rd loss - leaving only 3 teams from the SEC.

It doesn't factor in the non-SEC games that will influence all this.

Really only need Ole Miss to lose, or Notre Dame to lose, or Indiana to get embarrassed.
If any of those things happens it will only move us into the last spot. At that point if A&M beats TEX they will jump us and TEX will likely stay ahead of us. If Clemson wins the ACC they are in and the committee will put a 2 loss Miami in too since their 2nd loss will be in the championship game.

I'm not sure what the tiebreaker for the ACC looks like, but SMU controls their destiny with 0 losses in the conference. Clemson and Miami both have 1 loss - not sure who would win the tiebreaker if they both win out.

Worst case from the ACC is that Miami wins out, doesn't make the title game, which implies they would probably still be in the top 10. Then the ACC will get two teams and that = both TN and UGA are out based on the current rankings.

One ACC team is getting in regardless of the outcome of anything else. Texas shouldnt get in if they lose to AM this late as their best win is Vandy; i'm not going to say they wont but their resume isnt as good as ours.

I think the SOS is overrated. I think our best bet is getting as many SEC teams to 3 losses as possible. This week I think we need to hope Ole Miss, A&M and Bama lose. Not sure why we want Bama to win. If OK wins that helps our strength of schedule too. Obviously, it would be nice to see TX and GA lose, but those are low probability

We would gladly take a Bama loss in the next 2 games. The question is if they go to championship game. Do we believe a loss there would drop them enough or not. That is the million dollar question. A regular season 3rd loss would put them out no matter how much some would want to keep them. They would need major upsets to get in if that happened. All of this is predicated on us taking care of our own business. GBO

Alabama's our only quality win. If they lose then our resume weakens allowing a team behind us to potentially jump us. That's why need them to keep winning. They protect us from getting jumped. Without the Bama win what's to say SMU doesn't jump us? Or Miami if they lose the ACC championship game to stay ahead of us?

The Alabama win is the only thing keeping us in this conversation.

If Bama loses a 3rd game in the regular season they drop behind us if we win out. We simply take their place, it’s that simple. Now if there 3rd loss is the SEC game that may be a different story. So while it’s true if they win it helps our win look better but if they lose a regular season game it gets us in. Nobody behind us is jumping us if we win out. GBO

3 of the most likely things that move us in the playoff are

1 ND loses another game
2. Ole Miss loses another game
3. Indiana gets beat so by Ohio State they drop out entirely
Unfortunately the talking heads on ESPN made it sound like Indiana could lose to OSU and still be in the playoffs. OSU needs to beat the crap out of them.

A couple make sense (UK and UF). But I am sorry, if Alabama loses another game, they are out and we move up one spot. If UGA loses to GA Tech, we move a spot as well. The CFP has already proven they do not give a rat's behind about SOS (Exhibit A = Indiana, Exhibit B = Texas, Exhibit C = Notre Dame). So I want all the teams above us to lose and us win out....that is the easiest path to the CFP.

I think if they lose close they could still make it and probably will but I if they get blasted they should be out. If they aren’t the whole thing is a joke
