I wanted when UT hired Kiffin. Let's see how TCU does against Wisconsin. In my mind, Patterson is the best at putting together a defensive game plan.

Please don't get me wrong. I am a Wilcox fan and Dooley fan. I am VERY HAPPY we have them. But, I can't help but wonder what UT would have done this year in Patterson's second year. If, we had gotten him.

TCU may get manhandled. They may be overmatched and have less talent. But, I still would rather have Patterson than anyone running UT's D!

Its sad that you have to ask fellow vol fans not to attack you for your opinion.

I would have taken Patterson over Dooley......anyone who says otherwise is more than likely not telling the truth

Thought I read somewhere that he was contacted, but declined.... I could be wrong...

I would have taken Patterson over Kiffin. That would have prevented so much...

However, I like what we have now. Let's see how it works out.

Patterson would have been a good hire, and Hamilton approached him and he turned UT down. I would like to see him lose, he likes playing a weak conference and weak schedule and then expect a BCS bowl at the end of the season.

Patterson is a great coach and was my first choice as well when they hired CLK.

I would have had serious concerns about the recruiting aspect with him though. Currently, he can take the best players in Texas that the other UT doesn't want and run the table in his crappy conference. In the SEC you have to win recruiting battles. CDD may be better equipped to do that. Time will tell.

Hopefully he doesn't take a big name job before UT's next coaching search after the 2012 season.

Would you like to make a bet Tennessee is not looking for a new coach following 2012?

Pointless post. Cool maybe if they would play in a good conf they would be 7-5

He'll have a big name job very soon if he wants one. TCU is going to have to pony up big bucks to keep him.

People have been saying that about him for the last 5-6 years, yet no one else wants him...
