Arrested for DWI around 10 pm.




COLUMBIA - KOMU 8 has confirmed Boone County sheriff deputies arrested MU football coach Gary Pinkel Wednesday night for DWI. Pinkel posted a $500 bond and was released from the Boone County Jail.

Deputies pulled Pinkel over for lane and signal violations on Keene Street near Broadway around 10 p.m. The sheriff's department said this is Pinkel's first offense, and deputies said he was cooperative.

Outstanding!! It looks like Mizzou will fit right in here in the SEC. Not only do we have players embarrassing our conference, we may have inherited a coach that is going disgrace the SEC as well. I just hope that he does not lead his team by example.

Couldn't help but notice that you were and aggie fan. I love your profile pic, sorry about the bond fire several years back, that was truly a tragedy. Thanks for the post and welcome to the SEC.

It's embarrassing, no doubt. Here's the scoop -

He was out for dinner after work with friends. He's arrested by 10pm. It's not like he's out partying all night with coeds. The probable timeline is that he left work around 7.

He refuses the breathalizer, they take him to jail and let him out within 2 hours. Something doesn't seem right. If he was drunk wouldn't they at least keep him over night?

Here's the punishment - 1 week suspended without pay. He won't be allowed back on campus until thankgiving night. Another week's pay is donated to a local program that I guess helps promote campus safety or something like that. He won't be receiving any bonuses this year (the "good guy" clause, no bowl incentive even if we make it to one). And his salary will be frozen for the upcoming year, so no pay raise. Also he has to do some community service (not sure how much).

The total financial loss is estimated at over $300k, plus embarrassment from coast to coast.

I hate Mizzou but Pinkel's arrest was dumb.
