Gator coach Mullen instigates brawl during game...

Mullen has turned out to be nothing but a thug. His actions yesterday should have him banned from college football for life! Typical Florida Gator.

there are people still coaching after child molestation accusations, hiring hookers, covering up rape claims etc but this is where you draw the line?

I was at the game, sh$htty officiating started the melee. Agree that Mullen probably didn’t need to run out yacking at the refs, but when a 300 pounder gets a running start and hits your Heisman-contending, record-setting QB late and with the crown of his helmet, and in this day and age, THAT isn’t called? Especially from a crew that threw their flags about every 30 seconds leading up to that play, but then they swallow the whistle when Trask nearly gets decapitated? I’m loving Dan Mullen and every single Gator fan I know is proud he’s our coach. The players appreciated him sticking up for them, I’d imagine their parents do too.

Also, if you watch close, that “brawl” had 1-2 guys on both teams actually throwing punches. The other 99% of it was barking and bravado.

I expect Mullen to be fined for running out there and confronting the refs, but it would be ridiculous if he’s suspended for Georgia. And all of the players involved missed the second half. When Pickens of UGA got into a fight much worse than this one, he missed a half. No more, no less for these guys.

I agree that no one should be suspended past last night’s game. Stuff happens, it’s an emotional game. Let it be over with.

I do think Mullen raised the temperature and most likely caused it to boil over, but I would love it as well if he was my coach defending his guys.

Post fight, post game, both coaches handled things well.

That’s reasonable, can’t disagree with any of it.

Im gonna stick with Jeffcoat starting it by hitting Trask 3 steps after the throw.
That was in the flow of the game and not intentional from what I could tell - just a late hit on a qb. Unfortunate, but it happens every other day and there wasn't any targeting or anything, with Trask popping right back up. Mullen didn't even see it - but charged the field and started a brawl. He isn't a thug just a complete idiot.

He took 3 steps after the pass and went high with the hit.

Im of the opinion he knew what he was doing.

It started with refs not throwing the flag. Mullen didn't help by charging our there i will agree.

I've got a hard time faulting him for sticking up for his player though, sorry a**ed Gator or not.

That hit on Trask wasn't that much. Definitely flag worthy but NOT targeting. Pretty obvious he wasn't trying to hurt Trask, maybe get his attention a little. I've seen much worse, many times, and very few end up in a reedonkulous fight.. Just looked like a bunch of children, on both sides, wanting to fight..

Edit: maybe move this to the NCAA forum and hopefully it won't turn into another jacked up Pruitt and/or JG sux thread....

The way Florida dishes it out they should learn to take it. Thug ball to say the least. The way the NFL is going Florida players should fit right in..if the NFL stays around that long.😂😂😂

It was a late hit. However, the players from both side were pretty much just standing around after the play until Mullen charged the field. So he did escalate the activity resulting in a bunch of punches and pushing and shoving.
Let’s see if the SEC says anything. The SEC was very vocal in Kiffin mentioning the reffing and issued a public document fining him. Let’s see if they release any public fines or statements.
