I don't disagree with the OP's sentiment at all. But let's not drag the mentally handicapped into this. I think we can be more creative than calling a team retarded. I'd like to think our fanbase may be insensitive, but can pick a more deserving group of people to be insensitive too.

That goes too far. They have fans who range all extremes, just like we do. Reasonable people will see that this year, UF will be favored...but if anyone offers you a UF victory of over 10 points, take the bet. I think it will be closer than that.

By the way, first post for PC Jr.

I don't know about all that. I actually think UF will be a very good team this year. They have a ton of talent, especially on D. Muschamp has been around bigtime programs for a long time and has plenty of experience coaching up D's, Weiss has an excellent track record of coaching up the offense.

I know alot of people think UF will be down this year, but I disagree.

I was at the '92? Fla game in Ktown. We were sitting next to several friends who were boasting that Shane Matthews would win the Heisman that year. Poured down rain during the game every time Fla had the ball in the second half. My buddy was a Ga alum and started the gator hater chant - the whole section joined in. We will beat the gators!

I was there. Good times no doubt. I would caution this; our vols are on the razor's edge of having just enough talent to be dangerous. If injuries happen (those of you who have been around for a while will agree, that happens) the entire outlook could change dramatically. I hope that doesn't happen. I hope some of our players will discover the difference between being hurt and being injured. Maybe the Couch's medication will get sorted out. Maybe Ben Martin will see the field and shine. I certainly hope it all goes our way. We are due some good fortune. Conversely, LSU's luck must surely run out.

Bottom line: set your expectations on 7 and see how things work out.

UF is probably one of our most winnable conference games.

I remember when their fans said they'd drop 60+ on us when Kiffin was here. They won by 10. Most of the Vols/Gators games are competitive, I don't see them whooping us. This is the best chance we've had in a while to beat them.

Right on. I actually think that Georgia will be the team that lets down the most this year, since they are expected to compete for the East. We probably have a better shot at beating them than UF given what has happened the last couple times UGA has come up here.

I like how someone hears one UF fan make a stupid comment, then he generalizes the entire fanbase with that particular comment. From the UF fans I have personally talked to, there seems to be a general consensus of cautious optimism...far from over the top arrogance.

No offense, but the rest of us hate to see someone talk to a few rational Florida fans and then generalize their whole fan base with rationality.

Some stupid Gator Fan told me they would beat Tennessee by over 30 points this year!!!!!!! Really?!?!?!?!in this 6 game losing streak besides 2007 every game is under 14 points. And UF was ranked in the top 15. I cant wait for the Swamp i want to beat and kill them like we did Ole Miss. There fanbase still thinks they are a SEC powerhouse!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead2:

FL is compared to TN, get real....how many NCs(or SEC titles for that matter) we have the last 7 years?

Now I'll take the under on the 30

Won't happen my friend, I just take a jab at UF any time I get a chance. In all honesty, like most people I have met many fans of all of our biggest rivals and the most annoying in my experience by far were Florida fans and Vandy fans ....... yes, there ARE Vandy fans.

This. Seems like a safe bet...even if we lose, it likely won't be by 30. If he won't put up money, bet something overly embarrassing instead. Nothing shuts an idiot up like having to sport the enemy's colors for a few weeks.
