you have a shot to win the east with him, call me dumb if you want to. it will depend on how many times he throws int's.

I'll just quote this ESPN article:
Considering the circumstances, Murphy performed well, but Tennessee's defense surrendered nearly 700 yards and 59 points to Oregon last week and is still a work in progress.

Remember when Driskel was regarded as a true up-and-comer after he registered 300 yards of offense and two touchdowns against Tennessee last year? He ended the season averaging just 137 passing yards and carried a mountain of criticism into this season.

For all the fans wanting to see a change at quarterback, they got their wish Saturday. But they shouldn't expect life without Driskel to be easier. Tennessee's defense is nothing special, and Murphy hasn't seen or been through anything Driskel has in two-plus years.

We suck. You won't know whether or not you have a good quarterback until you play a quality opponent.

It's difficult to say. Murphy struggled a bit passing against our D. He had a lot of success scrambling, but defending against speed is the Vols' biggest problem. Oregon exploited this fully and Murphy was also able to take advantage. I don't think South Carolina and LSU are going to struggle nearly as much with containing Murphy's speed.

He managed the game well, something that Driskell was having trouble doing. Murphy certainly didn't do anything to lose the game, but he made some good runs in critical situations.

and thats what we need driskel takes the worst sacks you have ever seen or if he gets out he hardly ever throws it away he tries some slick **** and throws a pick or while he's being sacked tries to throw it and it turns into a sack/strip

murphy actually feels pressure coming thats a HUGE plus lol

I think y'all are nearly as bad as we are. You are very fortunate that you played a terrible team yesterday. I think y'all finish middle of the pack in the east.

what did you think of murphy? do you think we'll actually be better off with him?
The good news is he's a good player, I also think he's better than Driskell has showed for you all year. More good news, Georgia has zero defense, so your weak area is now improved against them, their O is good, but your D is very good if you stay healthy, I see you cats beating them. Bad news, USCjr, I see taking it to you guys though this year.

Don't you just love how some of our fans call Driskell awful.... our fans calling the guy who absolutely whipped our ass last year and, IMO, would've done the same thing again yesterday had he not gotten hurt. Jeez

As far as Murphy... looked good, very athletic, couple of nice throws, did a good job running the offense down our throats. Honestly hard to say how good he is because it was against UT. WKU ran, and threw the ball at will vs UT for an entire half so there's that.

Could be. He has some strengths you can play toward.

Overall, the defense is not shut down but good enough to win the east. Unless Murphy is dramatically better (which I think will take some time) UF will lose 3 or 4 more games. UGA should win the east.

Our defense is offensive.....so your back up ain't the second coming of Tebow...like ESPN and the Gator Nation thought Burton was going to be a couple of years ago.

I hated to see Driskel go down. For his sake but for the Vols as well. He was slowed with the knee and when a mobile QB came in I knew it would be trouble for us.

Murphy really impressed me. I think you guys are in great shape with him. He has a lot of speed and looks to have a good arm. As long as he can limit his mistakes then you guys are fine.
