It remains to be seen just how tough it is.

It's laughable that the OP is critical of UF's OOC when UT plays UT-M, UAB and Memphis.

How many FCS teams have you played the last 5 years compared to Tennessee? Exactly!

I don't know, and really don't care. We beat you guys the past five years. I could care less about what cupcakes we both scheduled.

Schedule smack is reserved for fans dealing with losing streaks against their most hated rivals.

So congrats, you win.

I just read the OP again to make sure I didn't miss something. The only remark he made concerning your OOC was to say that you're playing Appy State.
Jeez

And you guys open the season with traditional powerhouse UT-Martin, fresh off of a 5-6 2009 record competing in the always tough Ohio Valley Conference.

Glass houses and stuff.....

Weird how even during the most successful period in their history, and possibly the worst period in ours, there's Gator fans over here defending themselves like someone's grave has been defaced.

It's no more weird than rivals bringing up tired, stale schedule smack to take the sting off of losing 5 straight against a division foe, and dabbling in a little hypocrisy at the same time.

I guess Lawrence can only repeat himself because that's all he can say. You've literally repeated yourself about 30 times in this thread alone. LSU has been so good the past couple years haven't they? No. Georgia has been good the past couple years haven't they? No. Tennessee has been good the past couple years haven't they? No. FSU has been good the past couple years haven't they? No. South Carolina, Vandy, and Kentucky have been so good the past 30 years haven't they? No.

Charleston Southern
Troy x2
FIU
Hawaii
Citadel
Miami (with recent suckiness)
Western Kentucky (before they moved up to FBS)
Florida Atlantic
Southern Miss
UCF
Western Carolina
Wyoming
La Tech

Miami is the best team right there that you've played other than FSU that is a decent team, but again both are currently not very good teams so again, UF's OOC loses.

Your future opponents are:

Florida Atlantic
UAB
Furman
FSU
Miami
Jacksonville St
Eastern Michigan
South Florida
Miami Ohio
Appy St

More great OOC games...Not!

You think that your strength of schedule is a little biased towards your opinion since you were playing the winner of the West the past few years? Yes. If you take away post season games I guarantee your SOS isn't in the top 30-40.

Everyone knows that UF schedules patsies because they can use FSU as an excuse even though they have been horrible the past few years. News outlets have ran stories on this very topic. For you to try and defend it is just showing how pathetic a fan you are. Now just go back to your own board and talk about how Tebow is the greatest thing ever and when he will come out of the closet.

Nevermind FSU is on UF's OOC every year.

Clearly UF needs some PAC-10 powerhouses like Cal, UCLA and Oregon to make their schedule legit.

Well seriously since FSU has trouble beating such mega powers like Jacksonville and Wake Forest You really should schedule a pac 10 team sometime...FSU is nothing more than a name anymore and even that is tarnished.

exactly...why would you want to play a brutal OOC schedule when you have to run through the SEC gauntlet...

btw Cincy was top 5 and OU wasnt bad the previous season
I agree with this. I hate how everyone says "the SEC teams don't schedule tough games out of conference." The conference schedule is the best, why kill the teams? Some fans say the schedule is overrated? The SEC will worry about a weak schedule when they stop winning national titles every year.

Yeah, it's really weird that people make factual observations about a hated conference rival. This is a Tennessee board. Shockingly, we're going to talk smack about some of our rivals. The fact that we have four or five Gator douchebags as regular posters is only going to increase the frequency of these threads. If you don't want people talking about your schedule, don't play the sort of garbage that gave justification to the BCS selection committee to leave Auburn out in the cold back in 2004.

Yeah, FSU isn't nearly as tough as those UCLA, Cal and Wyoming teams you guys had trouble beating recently.

It's rare you and I agree on anything, but this is one of those rare occasions.

Nothing short of UF scheduling road games against Texas and Southern Cal every other year would satisfy some rivals.

Who's defending UF's schedule? We play OOC patsies after playing an SEC schedule and FSU. We can argue all day whether or not that's sufficient to win a national title...wait a minute...IT IS!!!! TWICE RECENTLY IN FACT!!!

So because some rival fans are all butthurt about getting pounded by the Gators the last half decade, we should schedule road games at the '72 Miami Dolphins and '85 Chicago Bears. UF's SOS is usually in the Top 10 following most seasons. I have no idea what UT's SOS has been, and quite frankly I don't care. You care because it's the only card you have left to play...so play on.

Now the Cane fan I agree with, I'd like to see UF play Miami more often, at a minimum a home-and-home each decade. We tucked our tails and ran from them 20+ years ago and that was shameful.

Or UAB...or perhaps Western Kentucky?

Take a look at our upcoming opponents. Take a look at yours. Your schedule sucks. That's the way it is. And guess what? You suck, too. You can present theories as to why we discuss that stuff at VN, but that doesn't change the fact that it's true.

I care about the conference schedule first, then FSU, then whatever breathers we have.

For whatever reason you care about our breathers, FSU and our conference schedule in that order....and the reason why couldn't be more clear.

Over the past decade, I'd wager to guess our comparative SOS has been close if not downright similar. Just because you guys recycle a washed up OOC brand name opponent like Notre Dame or UCLA every now and then doesn't make your schedule any tougher. And just because they beat you as often as you beat them doesn't mean either team is any good.

If you were making factual observations, you would have posted something along the lines of UF's schedule actually HELPING them get to the BCS title game in '06 and '08 with one loss.

Yeah, those upcoming regular season games against Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, Nebraska and Ohio State mean nothing. It's completely insane to notice any sort of difference between those teams and a program like Charleston-Southern or the program that just dropped so far it had to fire a living legend.

Wow, that is impressive....do they hand out a trophy for that?

Congrats on scheduling teams you need to schedule nationally because there aren't enough quality recruits in Tennessee.

Again, you win.

You're either incredibly stupid, or you just don't want to debate the actual topic of the thread. Either way, you were right about one thing. I win.
