If you mean disappointed in the first half effort sure.

If you mean amused by some VN tool, whose team lost in the first round if the NIT, mocking a third straight elite 8 team, yeah that, too.

UF didn't exactly run a gauntlet to reach the Elite 8. Beating a 14,11 and 15 along the way, has to be one of the easiest paths seed wise in a very long time.

Three Elite 8's in a row. I'll take that.

We're relevant.

I'm not arguing relevance, I simply pointed out the easy path you had, this year. This UF team is one dimensional offensively for the most part and when 3's aren't falling they're in trouble. Young should dominate every game with his size and athleticism but spends every game being dominated and pushed around by inferior players and Murphy's a sorrier excuse for a big man than Young.

Elite 8 is Elite 8, lucky or not.

So, it means the Gators are,at best, finishing 7th in the losers bracket. Yea they finished ahead of Tennessee, I know, I know ... But we beat them Mano on Mano too ... Something to think about. Further, since Pearl we have owned the Gators. Maybe they did have, without a doubt, the easiest track to the final 8. Would not call this team an elite team! GO VOLS!

I don't disagree with any of that. The fundamental problem is that legitimate bigs are not going to any SEC team other than Kentucky.

Florida's season would have been the best in the history of Tennessee basketball.

Something to think about

While I agree Kentucky seems to get their pick Florida has not done so bad over the last few years. In fact, I would say their recruiting is much better than their performance. I really don't understand why they don't perform better. No bashing intended.

That's great and all but we ain't hanging a banner for beating UF in the regular season.

This is what's so great yet so wrong with the tourney (although there's no other way to do it). The tournament is all about matchups. Apparently, we're a horrible matchup for UF and have been for the last 10 years (even Buzz would step up and beat them once a year). If we're substituted in the same place as UF and given their seed do we run through the field to multiple Elite 8's? The tournament gives all 68 teams an equal chance of winning but to some extent marginalizes the regular season. The only benefit of going 32-0 in the regular season is getting a number 1 seed. One off game and you're done and in the grand scheme of things your outstanding season is all for naught.

Rankings wise both those guys were up there they just don't use it. Noah got away with murder down low and was probably weaker than both Murph and PY but he played bigger than he was. Billy has seemed to favor a more finesse style the last 5 yrs or so. A far cry from the days of Haslam, Harvey, Bonner, Lee, Macklin etc.
