Gators Hire New WR Coach

You are not the first gator on this board to say that.

The other 2 said it had something to do, with the Dunlap situation?

Gonzalez wanted to be the OC, and begrudgingly accepted Addazio getting that role after Mullen left.

I hadn't heard anything regarding Gonzo and Dunlap. I put the blame squarely on a 4th year player who should know better....there's more to that story as well. When was the last time you saw a football player out drinking by himself?

Yeah it was a very bad decision. No different than our 2 guys, with the gas station deal. Pretty stupid.

They throw alot away in just a few seconds.

Agreed.

Word is several defensive players were out drinking on Tuesday AND Thursday night before the Bama game.

Our offense looked like garbage against lesser defenses than Bama this season.

For the first time all season our defense took the night off, and we got ***** slapped.

You may be on to something there.

The gator on here the other day, said that Billy G. would not be the only one to leave ( under these circumstances). As in, not really on his own accord.

I hadn't heard of any dissension with other assistant coaches.

I just want Addazio back to being offensive line coach, and ONLY offensive line coach.

Losing Mullen hurt. That dude had a nack for calling plays. For the talent he had, he used it well.

I think between Strong leaving, and what ya'll are losing/could lose on D, your D will take a step back.

If Brantley plays well, the O will be better in some ways. I think we would match up better against a passing QB out of the spread.

Mullen had Harvin and Murphy, not to mention Hernandez as a 3rd option. I personally didn't have an appreciation for Murphy until I watched him almost single-handedly beat the Steelers last week.

The D will take a step back in 2010 obviously.

However we've recruited very well on that side of the ball. All of our DTs return, and we're still 2-deep at DE without Dunlap. Bostic will replace Spikes, and Jelani Jenkins will step in for Ryan Stamper. I'm a little concerned about our CB situation opposite Janoris Jenkins. We are pretty good at safety regardless of where Elam decides to go. He's been quite the diva. :birgits_giggle:

2011 will be a very good year for UF defensively. Next year will be a roller coaster no doubt.

Hard to replace experienced talent. The talent part is pretty easy, the experinced part not so much. We will gain a little of both next year, due to Kiffin playing the best players, and not just the most letters.

Our D may be a little better, even losing Berry. I think the second year under Monte will be better.

Our O will be the question, OL and QB. We are pretty solid everywhere else.

Yeah, losing Hardesty and Crompton will hurt you guys. You should take solace in the fact that your coaches got improvement out of Crompton as the season wore on. You'll need that same improvement out of Stephens.

What's your D-line situation look like? I know you lose Dan Williams but that's about it right?

Yeah, maybe we can get something out the ex Gator DT, Brown?:) (assuming he makes it here)

DE looks good (pretty deep, and adding some more with this class). Looking for depth at DT. We have some young guys (Hughes looks to be on his way) Still need some depth there.

Secondary should still be good.

Im more worried about LB, if we can get Reviez and Frazier back healthy, and ready by spring that will help.

UF got our best D, we fell off some when Reviez got hurt. (And hes former walk on)

Good luck with keeping Brown eligible academically. He had trouble balancing books with practice, and guys like Terron Sanders and Lawrence Marsh passed him on the depth chart.

And I agree with Rogan and Jackson, your secondary will be very solid.

Yeah, I heard the rap on Brown. Hopefully he can get that worked out, and contribute. Guess we will see.

Palardy may be our most valuable player next year. Our STs have to get better all around.

Whatever bro. I missed where I stated UF lost because Dunlap got drunk.

Go back and read what I said about UF's chances of beating Bama.

Your reading comprehension skills are lame.

I see you failed to include my post that said UF's offense would also need to overachieve....but that wouldn't help your argument.

At no point did I say UF lost to Bama solely because of Dunlap's DUI.

You get a B+ for effort though.

I've yet to spot the post where you say UF's offense would need to overachieve, and I don't see how its relevant to what I'm saying. I never claimed you said UF lost solely because of Dunlap's DUI. You did imply that (large number of gator players) were out drinking the week leading up to the game, and as a result the gators underperformed.

That's because you were too lazy to check all of my posts.

I expected to go undefeated in the regular season. I expected to beat Tennessee by more than 10 points.

As the season wore on I didn't think we'd get past Bama unless our offense overachieved and our defense held serve. Neither happened and we lost.

And the sun came up the following day....

That post isn't anywhere in this thread. I'm sorry I didn't search the rest of Volnation for a vaguely referenced statement. I promise it doesn't reflect on my reading comprehension.
