Gators lose 2 WR to transfer

What's up with Alli(sp)?

Alli made a couple plays in the spring game. He's a serviceable receiver with good size and decent speed.

From most accounts Quinton Dunbar has been the best of the bunch.

Deonte Thompson has been a disappointment, and he was a can't miss 5-star guy coming out of HS.

4 star Javares McRoy and 5 star Chris Dunkley are leaving the program.

McRoy to Texas Tech. No word on Dunkley.

Any already average talent unit becomes even slimmer for the orange and blue.

Dunkley has grade issue(strong rumor)...looks like JUCO or FCS atp.
McRoy saw they writing on the wall with the way Dunbar and Robert Clard played this spring.

i had high hopes for dunkley and mcroy looked like a playmaker

least we still got solomon patton he looked fast as hell and perfect for the slot

any space and he's gone for a big pickup or TD

CW LOVES Patton said he has all the tools of Dexter Mac. Alli,Dunbar,O Hines and Hands will get most of the reps but watch out for Mike Blakely in the slot this season also.

I'm not nearly as optimistic as you are about Patton or UF's WR unit.

I wish I had your optimism. I bet you wouldn't trade WR with us..........

We will eventually get back to winning games, but it might take a couple of years with the new staff. We have to build our talent back up cause we aren't where we need to be at certain areas imo.
You got that right. It is refreshing, however, to have a gator fan come in here with reasonable viewpoints. Doesn't happen very much. Welcome aboard.

Completely agree with LW. I am not impressed with what we have right now if we really think we have a chance to win the East.

We have no deep threat, our QB has the yips and our o-line is a disaster.

Other than that we're in good shape offensively.

I don't imagine you'd agree, but I think UF is going to go thru 3-4 years similar to last years, but maybe worse. Life runs on a bellcurve and football isn't immune. TN is on the upswing, UF is on the down. It will change again in 5-6 years. Just the way it is.

lol...UF will not be down 4 years...last year was based on bad coaching and not playing the "best" talent. When guys ranked high as Dunkley and JM transfers out in the spring it tell you it's some talent on the roster. The front 4 will control the LOS this season and the back 4 match up well with any SEC WR core bc of their size and pressure coming up front. 8-4 will either get us to Atlanta or second in the east...BOOK IT!

2011 will be a train wreck, we'll improve in 2012 then after that it's anyone's guess.

UT in 2012 reminds me of UGA's 2000 squad. It's your best chance in over a decade to make a title run. However history tells us that both UT and UGA don't perform very well when expectations are high.

I don't expect UF to be down for as long as you hope we are.

Good points. We're still too thin in a couple of areas to do that yet. Next year is the run year with Bray and his jr/sr linemen and wr core. I'll also be anxious to see how the new staff handles expectations. Couldnt be much worse than some recent years.

The great thing about the SEC this season is EVERY team has its issues. That Oct stretch will determine UF season. If we manage a slipt imo this team will play in Atl.
