Whether you pulled for the SEC in the NC game or not is irrelevant to the impact it will have on the Vols. The media such as Corso and Herbstreet claim the 4 and 5* recruits will be lining up to play for CUM. I think we all know how wrong those guys were over the course of the season. Most seem to view the Gators NC has a big hindrance for the Vols recruiting, but it could just as easily be a big plus for us.

If anyone who has taken the time to examine CLK personality this 1 thing has to ring true: He hates to lose at anything. Whether it is recruiting or coaches he is relentless in who he wants and goes after them. I think and feel the NC will help the Vols more then it will hurt for the following reasons.

1. Mike Hamilton had CLK call out the Gators at the press conference so CLK knows who he needs to recruit against and beat on the field.

2. CLK takes pride in his persistence on recruiting top players that fit his scheme. He envisions and offensive juggernaut and knows if he achieves it his defense is in good hands.

3. Ed Orgeron is a recruiting machine and is chomping at the bit to rebuild his resume as the best in the business in recruiting and as a D-line coach after the Saints and Ole Miss situation. His greatest opportunity is defeating the Gators and getting the Vols back to elite status.

4. Monte Kiffin did not return to the college level to be embarrassed on the field and lose the credibility he established as a defensive guru. Defensive players will be more out to listen and do what he says because of his legend status from the NFL.

5. Recruiting budget, Facilities and the will for Greatness!

I'm not sure I understand the logic that says UF's NC will be a boon to our recruiting.

Not saying it will be a boon to our recruiting but with the recruiters we have on staff it should make them hungrier since the NC lies in our division.

UF gets the players they want. There are plenty of 4 and 5* kids in the state of Florida alone for UT, UF, Miami, and FSU.

We don't have the luxury of being able to stay in-state and pretty much fill our roster.

If anything, CLK realizes what he is up against. UF looks to be dominant again as they were with SOS. Post-Tebow will be interesting, but I think UF will be fine.

We have our work cut out for us, but UF sets the bar high.

With the recruiters we have on staff I cannot think of a better staff to have to go after the bar then Kiffin and Orgeron.

It may light a fire under (Lane) Kiffin and Orgeron, but that won't necessarily mean that kids will want to come here any more.

Their NC will ensure their flow of Florida's best talent for a while. But,If you think about it. If the kid is on offense and he wants to got the NFL, the last place he should want to go is Florida.

if anything it will want more recruits to come to play for a school in the sec, considering three in a row and five in the last ten years. Florida schools can't take all the talent, so I agree florida winning the nc helps the sec as a whole, and we could benefit as much as anyone with our recruiters and coaches.

I personally believe having a strong conference standing helps recruits. Just as better players want to usually play in the best division, my guess is they also want to play in a better conference.

As far as Bama losing to Utah, I have heard many theories but to me Utah had more to play for and Bama had just lost in the previous game their inspiration.. I watched many of the Bama games, and they usually came out fired up, but when you were expecting to play for the NC and you lose the game before, I believe that will hurt your play. I don't know if a team that loses their last game of the season should be allowed to play in a BCS bowl.

All those playmakers at UF are underclassmen...most were Fr. and So....so I think that could be a good selling point. If anything, UF's Title isn't so much a hinderance to Tennessee and other SEC schools as it is a great recruiting tool for UF. CLK, O, Chaney, Reeves and Drayton are highly rated recruiters for a reason. They're elite salesmen and they know how to get in a recruits ear and tell him what he wants to hear. Playing time in UF hurts thier recruiting a little bit for this class but wont hurt them next class. And really, UT isn't going head to head with UF on that many recruits...maybe one or two IIRC. Alabama, UGA, and USCjr are the main schools we're going against and we have some advantages over those schools. CLK and co. will be just fine.

Florida could potentially return ALL defensive starters, and ALL of their backups.

There are a lot returning on offense as well.

Florida's NC won't help or hurt us. Four and five stars won't sit the bench and wait 3 years to play for one. A Dynasty will never last in the modern time because the number of scholarships was reduced....ole Bear kept it going because he had a roster of 120 and could stock up on talent. Gators won it in 1996, we won it in 1998. As good as the Gators claim to be in the 90's, over the best 4 year run for both teams 95-98 they both won a National Championship and 2 SEC Championships...the Vols won 1 more game than UF over that time frame. What hindered the Vols for the last few years is the best talent waiting "their turn" riding the bench while players with less talent led the Vols on the field.

It has been a while but we won the NC 10 years ago and have had some pretty good talent but look at us now.

Also, why does that dirtbag saban and his maroon wave seen to have to beat 4 & 5 star recruits off with a stick? They were doing this last year before the success of this year.
I don't know what leads to top recruits but it is more than success on the field, although I am sure that can't hurt.
