Not sure if anyone saw but the entire defensive staff was ****canned! This whole program needed a cleansing, not that loosing Hinshaw & Pittman was justified but there is no Saban tree re-re's left!! If Harts choice doesnt pan out then in 3years we should get a new athletic department cleansing!!!

The NC doesn't add any credibility to Chizik, especially since he arguably won the NC with at least half the talent he didn't recruit, that he has only a 38-38 overall W-L record, that he wasn't very good at Iowa State, 5-19, and that his last season at Auburn was a record setter for losses in an AU season. As a HC, Chizik was another Dooley type. As a DC, pay your money and take your choice.

I'll take my chances with him walking into a recruits home (that doesn't care about anything you just listed) and saying I know what it's like to win a championship. The NC might not add credibility to serious college football fans especially since Newton was the main reason Auburn won but to high school kids it does. I wouldn't want Chizik as a DC but I wouldn't mind him being on staff.

Hart wouldn't likely be terminated before the end of his contract because UT would have to pay him 75 per cent of his base salary of $575,000+ if they terminate him without cause before the end of his contract. And the buyout/payout terminate guru Mike Hamilton mindset, and the financial cost of that mindset probably isn't lost on UT ptb.

Kids aren't stupid, nor are their parents who would know the mediocrity level of Chizik. The NC would not override the fact that he was/is a loser as a HC and that he was fired because of that.

those bashing chizik don't know how good of a defensive guy he is...some guys are just better coordinators than head coaches

I don't like Chizik either, I think he is a crappy coach but there are a lot better coaches out there that never won a Championship in the hardest conference in college football. We'll have to agree to disagree. It's not like he's coming here or anywhere for that matter for an assistant job anyway. He's still going to try and ride that National championship to get him another head coaching job somewhere, sad thing is someone might fall for it and hire him.

He's a grade A douche. But I'd love to have him as DC. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't remember his pre-ISU days.

Indeed they might, just as Auburn did, especially if some school gets in a bind and needs a quick hire, and Chizik is able to somehow finesse or obfuscate the results of his coaching career.
