General Neyland's Grave

I doubt if you can even walk around Neyland's grave now. The ground around it is all torn up, where he has been spinning in his grave, like a lathe for the last few years.

I graduated in '99 and never knew he was buried in Knoxville either until about 5 years ago.

My wife and I went to the cemetery early Sunday morning before heading home, and while not too far from campus it's not in the greatest part of town...we passed a mission or two IIRC.

We were the only ones there (obviously) and I made a rubbing of his tombstone (orange crayon) which I had framed and hangs in my office. I'll edit with a pic on Tuesday.

I haven't gone back, and don't plan too. Although I highly recommend it for any VFL. I was thinking "I am past the casual-fan-point" :salute: but not in an updykish sense
