I actually thought, with the limited action he has seen and the fact that the second string OL was in, as well as the second string everything else, that he showed some flashes of greatness.

Yeah, the game has to slow down for him some. I wish they would have left him in longer.

But his run showed he has great ability to see space and had the Holy Spirit not tackled him that likely would have been a 30+ run. He put some great touches on some throws. He wasn't perfect, but no QB in his situation was.

Nico is gonna have the opportunity to be great here. I say have the opportunity, because Jake Merkingler is a name we ALL need to become familiar with.

Gonna be a heck of a QB competition in years to come I think.

I think from the banter here that the rest of Vol Nation had realistic expectations of Nico tonight. He performed well and certainly met my expectations.
