I thought he had a really good showing and displayed some of what will hopefully make him great. His ability to manuever in the pocket is elite. Sure he needs to improve on his accuracy, but its not bad. His ceiling is tremendously high though.

Having seen some of the improvements Milton has made under Huepel just in the course of this season, I have no doubt he will be able to get a lot out of Nico.

I think from the banter here that the rest of Vol Nation had realistic expectations of Nico tonight. He performed well and certainly met my expectations. Oh, and we put fiddy nine on the hairy dogs.

We all have higher expectations than 55% passing percentage. For what he is, his confidence on the field looked like no Bryce Young, and other Freshman QBs we have seen take the field, and that was the OPs point. His TD play was somewhat funny to watch. Not sure I would choose this game to make the point and would probably wait until his first real game, but it doesn’t make the OP inaccurate. His upside is there, and one of the passes he threw was as beautiful of a ball I have seen any of our QBs throw. He is going to be good once the team is his. I could care less about this game personally.
