1st statement is true but I think a majority would disagree with the second. Brady has had some awesome teams to work with. Brady>Peyton in the playoffs though for sure.

If I had to choose between Brady and Peyton as my QB for the playoffs, I'd definitely choose Brady. He's the most clutch QB I've ever watched.

A majority here maybe; majority of NFL fans, I seriously doubt.

Another important thing that's left out: Durant played one year in college and won national player of the year. King was there longer, which is cool and all, but never won anything of the sort.

Three time SEC POY. No doubt would have been 4x if he stayed.

4 scoring titles and one MVP versus one scoring title and a few reporters that think he's good.

At this or any point in time, Durant is better, and it's not that close.

King played when Byrd, Magic, Jordan, Kareem, Dr J, Pistol Pete, and many other greats were in their prime. Stats and single season awards don't tell the entire story. There once was a guitar player named Jimi that most people consider to be the GOAT. Jimi never won a Grammy Award or had a song chart higher than #20 in the US.

Also, King was rarely on TV before the NBA. He wasn't hyped. Very little early video exists. Vol fans born after 1970 don't fully understand how amazing BK was.

The real joke is that he is a women's basketball coach and accused the men's game of only having 10 good teams. Really Geno? Women's college basketball is just filled with all sorts of quality teams isn't it?

He didn't say 10 good team...he said 10 watchable teams. That may be splitting hairs but he's correct. Look at UVA. They were, by all accounts, a really good team this year but they were pretty much unwatchable.

Bruce Pearl, Cal, and most any other talking head around has pointed out the deterioration of the men's game.

Womens games were pretty boring too

Haha. During King's two best seasons (1983-85) Kareem, Dr. J, and Pistol Pete were all almost 40. They're not the reason King only made 3 All-Star teams in his 8 pre-injury seasons.

Like I said, I like King, but Durant has been one of the three best players alive for several years now. He's more accomplished even if you limit it to their first 8 seasons, which is even more impressive when you consider that he (unlike King) was 19 years old when those 8 seasons started.

If you would rather watch women's basketball over men's basketball then you are most likely a woman. Women's basketball is sloppy on both ends of the court.

I would rather watch the men's game as well, but I've never seen more missed lay-ups from point-blank range than over the last few years from the men's game...most of them by UT! :thud:

Well I definitely agree there, I think that maybe had something to do with our undersized bigs who were having to adjust their shots and probably lack of talent. I still go with the premise you should never miss a layup.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the men's game has severely gone downhill.

like other poster have said - its that damn 1 and done -- fans only see star players 1 year then have to start over and so on ---

And Geno's just jumping in to take advantage of that hot topic to try to elevate women's bball. Of course, he'll never be able to (at least, not above men's), because women's bball is sub par and terribly boring.

Well, under the previous system, most of those players would go straight to the NBA and wouldn't play college basketball at all.

Didn't say they kept King off of All Star teams... substance abuse was a bigger factor. The guys that I listed and Moses Malone won all of the MVPs in that era. But the reason that I listed them was to show how the competition was far superior then than what Durant has been facing.

King was absolutely dominating the NBA when his knee was destroyed. King was a better basketball player than KD. TN fans born after 1970 don't understand how amazing King was at TN and in his NBA prime. Stats don't define how great King was. You had to have witnessed it.

Geno Auriemma of UConn Huskies says quality of men's college basketball is "a joke"

Ah-hahaha, what a dumbass.

He says he doesn't understands men's basketball... doesn't surprise me. As you can tell, the dude also doesn't understand being a man.

The real joke is women using a smaller basketball if you ask me. And the fact that they're smaller, slower, weaker and can't dunk. Hey, remember when the three point line used to be closer too?

lol @ Gena

If you actually read his comments, he's spot on.

There were plenty of people who witnessed it and, more often than not, deemed it not worthy of being in the All-Star Game. Or being First Team All-NBA. Or being MVP. But, let me guess, none of that counts because you had to be there.
