So far, Smith has dismantled Marshall, James Madison, Maryland and Baylor, so the stats should be taken with a disclaimer. Still, through four games, Smith has more touchdowns (20) than incompletions (18). He is 141-for-169 (83.4%) for 1,728 yards, with zero interceptions. And he was at his best against Baylor.

Has anyone ever had a better month? Video game numbers. He is on pace to throw for something like 80 TDs and no INTs and just under 7,000 yards.

I think you will be right as long as WVU wins out and if they don't win out they would have to lose to someone important or lose to someone that they "should" lose to.

I don't beleive this right now, as of now there is nobody in the discussion with him, he can still win it with a loss or 2 as long as he keeps putting up good numbers...like RGIII last year. They finally got it right last year, its supposed to be the most dynamic player.

Yeah but they won't get it right two years in row. :)

Where have I seen this before...Houston...OSUlight...Baylor...now WVU. He's an above average quarterback in a quarterback friendly system that plays absolutely nobody respectable on defense. RG3 could potentially be Michael Vick with a better arm, lets not make those comparisons just yet.

That said I'm happy for the month he's had, seems like a really good guy...you just wouldn't see this performance out of him in the PAC or SEC.

You must not watch him play. I know it's a system offense but Smith is a great pure passer. There were certain routes where he placed the ball perfectly. He is deadly accurate and I don't care what system you play in, when you throw more touchdowns than incompletions that's amazing. I love the Vols, but they could literally pick the score against our D.

I would have to agree that Geno hasn't really played any above average d's, but I think even if he had Geno would still have some great numbers and be the front runner for the Heisman.

I'm going with a buddy of mine to see the game down in Austin on Saturday night. I figured it's a good way to spend a REAL UT bye week!

I can't wait to see Geno. The kid is absolutely mesmerizing to watch.

Nice, man. I hope to see that game. If Smith kills it then, I think he's got the Heisman locked up early as he won't face a tougher defense all year.
