George Floyd Protest/Riots

My SIL is a cop and I've suggested he find another line of work.
If he stays on I would suggest telling him if he comes out to a situation where a black male is involved to just keep driving and never pull a black male over no matter what he’s doing

Calling prison labor slavery is stupid.

No one, including prisoners, are forced to work against their will in this country.

The majority of these work programs are coveted by inmates. Because if they weren't working they would just be sitting in a cell or dorm all day like the majority of inmates do. All those companies would be fine without inmate labor.

Like virtually all liberal brain children, banning these programs would hurt the very people its trying to help the most.

^^^^ This. In addition to getting paid a little, these inmates get special privileges in addition to simply getting out of their tiny individual cells. They eat better, get more exercise, more free time, and learn a variety of skills that can be used in the free world when they get out.

Taking this work PRIVILEGE away from inmates would be punishment. There is always a WAITING LIST for any type of work program. Do a little research and critical thinking maybe before posting nonsense

Research and facts are too hard. They need coloring books instead

That's how they sell it to prisoners too. However, most of those programs exist so that they can get cheap labor. America doesn't give a damn about rehabilitating inmates compared to the rest of the developed world.

Pretty much. This is just going to be take as much as they can until there’s pushback. Right now the media and pandering politicians are feeding the frenzy. Take whatever you want.

It’s open season on stupid ideas. No matter what if you disagree you’re a racist.
Imo a lot of this stems from covid and the lock down. People didn't want to do it. Some may have or may lose their jobs and then just the isolation of it. Now its the government isn't going to tell me what to do

You think he drove to a drive thru sober, decided instead of ordering to get drunk, then sleep it off? Awesome
No. This response was relative to DUI law and its application to those in a non-running, non-moving vehicle. Nowhere was the Atlanta situation being discussed relative to this response. Reading comprehension and simple intelligence are a dying art. Awesome.

Lol you don’t have a clue. Yeah, Walmart and target would never survive without prison labor.

Umm that case was precisely what I was discussing in which you commented on, I agree on reading comprehension and simple intelligence

So firing his gun was the only way to stop someone who has proven to be a threat to the public (drunk driving) and a threat to the officers (punching, slamming, stealing and using taser against them)?

No. That isn't what I said at all. You are clearly misinterpreting my post.

An officer cannot let a drunk felon free with a state issued weapon. He is an immediate threat to the public. If he uses that weapon to carjack someone, are we excusing the officer for not shooting him? I doubt it.

So if he cant shoot him, what should he do? Let a drunk felon free into the streets to arrest him when he comes out of hiding WHILE HE POSSESES A STATE ISSUED TASER.

Actually, you were responding to another poster with questions about the Atlanta case when that poster was talking about general DUI law. You could not understand context there either. RIF.

Cops probably should have just gone ahead and shot him at the first two opportunities they had instead of showing massive restraint in using deadly force. Once when he was physically attacking them and again immediately after he took the taser. It looks like they messed up by actually utilizing their training in force continuum during this active aggressor situation.

No **** sherlock, how long did it take you to come to this obvious conclusion?
