.. ? Dawgs have not lost at home in 5 years since before the pandemic. Many young Georgia fans have never seen a home loss. Not possible they say.
I remember when Erik Ainge broke a Georgia home record back in 04 it was the longest streak in Georgia history, if anybody can do it. It’s us

And Vandy can’t beat Bama. They can be beaten. Will they? It will take us playing at the very highest level we can and a nearly perfect game to do so. But it can be done.
I know the situation is our biggest adversity this week (on the road, at night, UGA in a “must win”), but have you watched UGA this year? They played very well against Texas and Clemson, but every other game has been a huge struggle, in multiple areas. We’ll see what a mountain of pressure, expectation, and doubt does to their spirit if we throw a couple punches.

The home field will be uga's biggest advantage. They may need it too since their o-line ain't real good right now and Beck seems to enjoy throwing it to the other team. Plus this is the weakest version of their defense will have seen for several years due to injuries and some poor play.

Where ever you play the Dogs, IF they are focused and fired up, they almost never lose under Kirby. They lost last year's SEC champ game to Bama, and they were focused and they wanted that game.....and lost it, but it was not in Athens and it took the very best game Bama could play to pull it off. Last time we beat them in Athens it took a miricle from our beloved Dobbs and Jennings. They turned off the scoreboard within ~30 seconds. So it's a rare and special moment when it happens. They rarely even play sloppy at home, much less lose at home. I'll be glued to the TV even if Gaston is leading, but I don't expect a miricle......prayin' for it but being real. It;s actually an opportunity to feather our resume IF GMo plays and we keep it close, say it's a ball game into 4th quarter and we lose by around 10 or so. IF that happened AND if Nico comes back next week and plays well thru the end of regular season, we might actually get some JU-ice from such a performance. But let me warn my Vol brethren.....even at 10-2 including a large number loss at Athens the committee would absolutely put a Bama team over VOlS into the playoffs that lost in a close SEC champ game and was 10-3. Don't kid yourself.....that would happen and it would be for an obvious Bama bias that has been long established.

Lots of moving parts in this game:
Nico’s health
Gas Pipe’s ability if he plays
Beck’s play
Their RB health
Crowd noise
Vegas and all that comes with that
Officials

Good news is the Vols faced a hostile environment in Oklahoma and did well. My heart says too many people need UGA to win and it makes things harder on the Vols. We’ve seen it before.
My mind says that the team and coaches are locked in, have had this game circled for awhile, and will go down there, take the blows, and pull out a win.

It wouldn't take a perfect game to beat UGA this year. They are nowhere near the level of '22. They will get up for this game, and they will be better because it's home, but they are not superior to us this year. This is as close to even as we have been with them in several years.

Now, I do think we needed to be closer to 100% healthy in this game to be competitive. We have a lot of guys banged up. But who Doesn't at this point in the year. I just worry that a game like this is where the Pili injury shows up.

Chattanooga in '58 and North Texas State in '75 among others remind me that anything can happen.

It’s one game. It CAN be done. We’ve done it before. I really don’t think Nico plays especially if concussion was his injury. GM knows the offense better than any other player. Sounds like a win for the good guys. Go Vols
