I am coming to the conclusion and I keep asking myself why is Georgia ranked #13 in the AP. I don't know why some people think they will have a good year. Don't get me wrong but they will have a good year and will probably play on New Year's Day, but I just don't see them better than us. They lost their best two players last year in Stafford and Moreno. They were preseason #1 and didn't match their billing. They just beat us by 12 last year at their place, with their best team (supposely) and our worst team. I seriously think the only reason why they were the preseason #1 team last year, because they were the hottest team in the nation and had the best winning streak at the of the 2007 season. I don't know why some people think they will beat us. By no means we are not the overwhelming favorite to win, but I believe we beat the 'Dogs this year.

If Cox isn't just dramatically better than the last time he saw the field, expect them to be mediocre at best on offense. I also think Martinez is really under the gun because most UGA fans wanted him gone last year. I see UGA going 8-4 or 7-5.

Discard my last post. I got Cox mixed with Tereshinski in '06 when we played them in Athens. But I still predict 8-4 or 7-5.

Cox has not impressed me at all, he has great arm strength, but I don't see any of the intangibles. Honestly I see UT beating UT pretty easily especially after OSU has their way with them.

If we had any type of offense @ all last year we could have beat them. I think Georgia will be favored & should be favored but i think we upset them in Neyland this year, & if that happens i believe that will have us starting off 5-1.

UGA is always favored over us and ranked over us even when we beat them. I don't know why, but the poles love UGA, they placed in a BCS game and didn't even play in the SEC game, we did and they were stil ranked higher than us.

Lines win Championships, Ga should have pretty good lines this year, so it doesn't matter whos really behind them, as long as they can get the ball to AJ Green, they might really be a Sleeper, but thats my opinion!

Agreed. If we beat UF(which I don't think we will) this place will go crazy...Right now though I want to see what we put on the field first

@ Oklahoma State (definitely a loss)
South Carolina (i'd say a win, but this game is always good and close, wouldn't suprise if the cocks win)
@ Arkansas (the hogs will be improved with petrino's offense and with mallet calling the shots, hogs win since it's in AR)
Arizona State (dogs win, but the sun devils are getting better under erickson)
LSU (dogs won last year against the poor lsu defense, i don't expect them scoring much this year on chief's D. tigers win and the only reason georgia wins is cause it's in athens)
@ Tennessee (Richt is 3-1 in neyland, but that didn't matter in '07. vols win cause it's @ home and this or the Auburn game might be the make or break game for Kiffin)
@ Vanderbilt (should win easily)
Florida (again supposely their best team was last year and look the ending result, 49-10 loss. i don't see nothing different this year)
Tennessee Tech (game should be done by the end of the 1st qtr)
Auburn (its in athens, but like us they struggled last year against a bad Auburn team. Auburn will be better and this rivalry is always a fun game. i'd say the dogs pull out a close win.
Kentucky (the dogs will beat cats, but this game in recent memory has been close, including a KY win in '06)
@ Georgia Tech (GT surprised me last year by beating their in-state rival. defending that option is difficult and takes weeks and weeks to figure it out. id say the yellow jackets win this one)

Georgia definitely has the hardest schedule in all of college football this year. Playing 3 BCS non-conference opponents is no easy task. I see Georgia losing at least 4-5 games. A possibilty of losing 6 or more is very possible with their schedule.

IF we start of 5-1, i think we could end up @ 9-3 with our other 2 loses coming from Bama, South Carolina or Ole Miss. Then depending on who we play in the bowl game we could end up @ 10-3, the recruit's would be pouring in then imo.

If we just so happen and upset Florida, Alabama, or Ole Miss, someone will upset us. If we beat someone that we are not supposed to beat, then someone will beat us that we are supposed to beat. I don't know of a team other than WKU, Ohio, Memphis, Vandy, and Kentucky that we are suppose to beat and I don't see any of those five teams beating us. I think there is no clear cut favorite when we play UCLA, Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina. I think we will beat all four of these teams, if not I definitely see us winning three of these due to the fact they are in Knoxville. I think we are better than all four of those teams, but the reason why I believe there is no favorite when we play them is the fact those teams beat us last year.

I see us going no worse than 8-4 and 9-3 at best. The 9-3 record is very reasonable. My mind is telling me 9-3 and my heart is telling me 8-4. I really think the Georgia game is make or break game for Kiffin.

Why do you say make or break game for Kiffin? I see nothing as being make or break for him this year. We did go 5-7 last year, I just want to see a better product on the field.

I think Kiffin should get at least 3 years to turn it around before we (the fans) or the AD start putting him on any hot seat.

Ohh no, am I in the twilight zone? Though I do think UT did beat UT last year, judging by our final record

I'll rephrase what I said as far as the make or break game for Kiffin. I think the Georgia game will be the game that truly reveals how we'll be. Everybody is pretty much expecting us to beat WKU and OH bad, lose to Florida, beat UCLA and Auburn, but the Georgia game will define our team.

I would tend to agree with this. The OL will greatly help out Cox and carry their running game. The DL will have to perform to cover up Martinez's mistakes.

Not saying that we might not have a puncher's chance against them, but the talent gap is hard to deny. There just aren't very many places on the field where we are better than UGA right now.

UGA's line play is going to be ridiculous next year...last year they had Jeff Owens go down at DT, him along side Atkins is oging to be scary, and most of their starting OLine went down and people had to be moved around so i think they are close to 2 deep with starting experience

I'm not that worried about Scar, I think we beat them....If we go 9-3, the other two losses outside of the Florida game, will be the Alabama game or 2 of the UGA, Auburn, or Ole Miss games...JMO

The reason UGA is ranked so high is because the have on of the top 3 OL in the country. Some say they have a good DL, but really they have good DT's. Their DE's aren't very impressive thus far. Rennie Curran is about the only thing they really have at LB. Their secondary is very impressive either. Combine the fact that Willie Martinez is one of the worst DC's in the SEC, if not the country, and they lose a lot because of their D.

If Richard Samuel can be the power back they deperately need they can win 9 games. Cox knows the offense and AJ Green and Michael Moore will be easy targets. It all depends on Samuel. If he sucks, they will be in for a long year. King won't do anything because he breaks everything to the outside every time he touches the ball whether or not the run is designed to be inside or not.

They can win 9 games at best IMO, and at worst 7 wins.

UGA...my least favorite topic...and if you lived in my area...you would know why. How a school with a classy coach can have such morons for fans is beyond me. Here is my take on their schedule.

Definite losses - Florida

Probable Losses - LSU

Possible Losses - UT, Ok. State, Ark. (never thought I would see the day I would be pulling for Petrino), USC lite, and GT.

I expect them to go 8-4 in all honesty...but would love to see them go 7-5 or worse. I am SO sick of hearing crap from the "Dawg nation."
