Georgia is getting killed by South Carolina

This is going to be a great game on Monday night, but conference games are more important for USC. The Duke comparison doesn't work because the Gamecocks won at Duke (where the Blue Devils blew out Kentucky and Louisville) and UCONN played them in Hartford. With a lot of snow predicted in Connecticut on Monday night, there may not be as large a crowd at the game as under normal circumstances.

BS, this is Carolina's most important game of the season if not program history.

My uncle lives in Fairfield, CT & he tells me the place will be packed - snow or no snow. I keep telling him they are going to lose to USC & he just laughs. Arrogant UConn fan!

How many teams in the AAC are ranked in the top 25?

LOL

Not as many as the SEC.

How many SEC teams have made the Final Four in the last 6 years?

You may win the popularity polls but as far as winning something that you earn on the court the SEC is old news.

If there was an AAC/SEC classic, the outcome would be something like 13-1, SEC. UConn is great, everyone else is beyond pathetic.

That's irrelevant!! the sec as a whole as made great strides in the last few years in bringing teams who have been historical doormats, to the top tiers of the sec as well as being legitimate top 25 teams. I remember clearly when South Carolina, Kentucky and miss st were all punching bags for the traditional power teams of the sec. The sec from top to bottom has to be, if not the best, right up there as far as being the most competitive league right now.

As far as South Carolina is concerned, they seem to be where uconn was back in 90's and that's building a national title contender year in and year out.

Didn't Tulane beat LSU? There a few AAC teams that would give some SEC teams a game but generally you are right. But I couldn't care less about the AAC. I'm a UConn wbb fan, not an AAC fan. UConn basketball fans want nothing more than to get out.

So the fact that the conference you think is the best has had zero FF teams in the last 6 years is irrelevant to their status compared to other conferences? WOW!

And in the 90's UConn wasn't building a contender, they won a national title and made 3 FF's. How many has SC made in this decade? Bad comparison.

I honestly like the S Carolina program and I think Staley is a great coach. But let's face facts. The SEC got two 1 seeds last year based on their play in the SEC and both exited the tournament after 2 wins each. Who beat them? Two 4 seeds from the ACC. You can talk all you want about the "top to bottom" of the SEC but great conferences have teams that compete for national championships. I think both Tenn and Carolina are better teams this year and both have a shot at a FF but l want to see that happen before I consider them at the same level as teams like UConn and Notre Dame.

Texas a and m won it all within the six year span, so you are already spewing a bunch of nonsense. If your going to make a claim, at least make a halfway legitimate one.

Uconn WAS building a contender in the 90's and they won their first title in the 90's. You just made my argument for me. Thanks

As a uconn fan you should be enjoying your dominance while you can, it won't last. These things are cyclical. uconn should be ok as long as geno is coach, but when he retires all bets are off.

I do think it is less clear cut this year regarding the status of the best conference. If you look at the last Bracketology update he has the ACC and Big Ten with 8; SEC and Pac with 6; Big 12 4. In actuality the SEC and Big 12 are getting the lowest percentage of their total teams in. The top of the SEC is solid but the middle and lower end hasn't held up this year like years past. LSU, Ole miss and Vandy are probably gonna need a run to get in going through February.

I think B12 fans would claim TAMU's title as their own. Otherwise the AAC could claim 8 UConn titles that rightly belong to the Big East. Now that would be nonsense. lol

To my way of thinking building a title contender and winning a title are two different things. But I agree that SC is a title contender.

As far as enjoying it, I do. And I am aware that no one stays on top forever.

No I'm LADY VOL all the way. That was for the UCONN fan who is giving us a hard time. When we play South Carolina we are going to get the WIN.

Lady, that was in answer to your question:), not aimed at you. It just comes on just to troll. The precious boneyard would have banned it before its first post went up. They are just too delicate to have disagrrement to their "greatness" on their board.

I hope South Carolina wins too, will be pulling hard for them to win their games...until they play us:rock:

The UCONN fan is having his day now but remember nothing is forever in sports. Those who brag now will cry later. Genno is the best now, but like Pat, there are A few coaches plotting who will eventually knock UCONN off the mountain. Until that time, UCONN enjoy your view as the lead dog, because that view will not last forever.

For starters, I think it's at least 10. Coates, Wilson, White, Cuevas, and Roy almost certainly will play. And, I don't think it's a matter of the 10 as a whole, but rather Wilson, White, Ibiam, Coates, Welch, and Dozier rotating between the 3-5 positions. The most glaring aspect is Stokes having to play longer minutes due to our size/skill combination. I know Duke has similar size, but who is an offensive threat besides Stevens? I'm not ragging on Stokes, but in my mind the longer she plays and/or Tuck does not is a plus for us and a minus for UConn(remember Tuck replaced Stokes as a starter after the Stanford loss). Stewie also has to defend the post more often in this game, not saying she can't, but rather I haven't seen her bang in the low post much. I'm not naive, I know we'll have to make adjustments too, but if it turns into a defensive game, I like our chances.

Find me one competitive game that South Carolina has played this year where they used more than 8 players. Just one, thank you.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Seeing as how, Im the SC fan and I have watched ALL of the games. Everyone I named played against Syracuse. Take out White, replace her with Gaines, this was the Duke game. Anyway, this is Tennessee's board, and I'm not about to continue this pissing match, on here.

Speaking of boards, CockyGuy, where's the best place to follow SC wbb?

Southern Cal (USC wins by 9): 11 players played
Syracuse (USC wins by 4): 11 players played
Duke (USC wins by 1): 10 players played
Kentucky (USC wins by 8): 11 players played
Missouri (USC wins by 11): 11 players played

Pick one out of those. Most of those games were without reserve post Jatarie White, who would have certainly had her share of minutes off the bench as talented as she is, had she been healthy. Since the Mizzou game, USC has played 5 other SEC gms and won them by an average of 25 ppg.

Coach Staley was playing with the starting rotation in the early portion of the season, settled into a regular cast around mid-season, and have let some key reserves develop as the season has moved along. True freshman PG Bianca Cuevas is starting to present her case for more PT as she's averaged 11.6 ppg over the last 5 gms, and White is now back and ready to resume contributing as well...

it's plain that SC's bench contributes both more minutes and more points than UConn's bench. But they need to. SC's starters score 39 points a game while UConn's starters score 67 points a game. It's an odd situation that "subs" Wilson and Coates play significantly more minutes but it works for Staley.
