Georgia naming QB Greyson Lambert week 1 starter

It was all a diabolical plan to send him to VA. Just like the plan to send Dooley to UT. :good!:

After how those three years played out, I almost believe this to be true...

I also want to note that during the Dooley years, there were always rumors of UGA fans (and only UGA fans) wanting to replace Richt with Derek. I now believe that those were strategically crafted pieces of misinformation to make the UT fanbase get defensive and support Dooley as a knee-jerk reaction. Masterful propaganda on the part of the dawgs.

If only the DawgNation was that bright. :salute:

What is the general consensus about this over in dawgland?

I think most knowledgeable fans know that Richt and Shotty know what they're doing. Lambert is tall, mobile, and has a very good arm. He was very effective vs FSU last season in spite of a mediocre O-line. We have one of the best O-lines in the SEC and he'll have more time to make decisions, as well as good RBs to hand off to and a much better receiving corp than at UVA. He beat out two good QBs, I think due to his experience and Shotty's system. We just need a QB who compliments our running game and makes good decisions. We don't need a world beater.

I don't think an adjective like "mobile" would be used to describe Lambert.

Here's the thing this kid was 2nd string at UVA, that is why he transferred. That in my mind is very telling. Pair that with not much in the WR corps and you have a recipe for trouble for UGA.

I get your point, and to be fair it is a very good one. To piggyback on what my Dawg brother said, Lambert will be sorrounded with much better overall talent and maybe a better coaching staff. This could be last year for the coaching staff at Virginia.

Time will tell who was right.

I definitely agree with that. It will be interesting that is for sure. Either way I see the East as a two team race, Us and You. Good luck on the season!

I'd say Mizzou should be considered in that race, but I honestly would expect Georgia to win the East this year outside of injuries. I think TN is one year away from being the division champ.

Haha, at least you guys still have a chance that Lambert can be serviceable. Dooley done his troll job to perfection at UT!

Chubb, Michel, and a healthy Marshall (who was ahead of Gurley on the depth chart as a freshman before his injury). All behind one of the two best O-lines in the SEC. Come on dude, do your homework!

It's way too early to predict who will be in the mix. All depends on how things shake out with chemistry and health/injuries. I'd say that UGA, Mizzou and UT (in that order) are the favorites. And that's backed up by every poll in the country. But key breaks, injuries, or suspensions could change any of that. Until I see these teams play a few games, I'm not making any predictions. This is college football.

I'd bet 1000 dollars right now Missouri won't win the east. I know we all said that last year but I promise you they won't win it again.

Is Ramsey really that bad? Jeez. At least they have Eason and that 2017 kid in the pipeline. The Eason kid is a stud.

I don't want to bet $1000 but I'm with you on this. I don't see Mizzou keeping it up for the next couple of years. The old guard comes back soon.

Grew up with him (Ramsey) he went to my HS. Always had a strong arm but the style of offense ran here was basically the option which is awful for him. He's slowwww. He's actually a better punter/kicker than QB.

Lambert reminds me a lot of Jonathan Crompton.

* If he's on, he could pick a mediocre secondary apart.
* When he's bad, he's really bad.
* Won't be able to hit tight windows under pressure.

If Georgia beats us this year it will be because of their ground game and winning the turnover battle, not this guy.
