:eek:k:
Thanks for the link, there is some more info at The University of Tennessee National Alumni Association, looks like for the GA game the are at the Ritz in Athens. I think that there is a bar or just pack a flask. Should be a good time.

This looks like the thing to do...since I will be on GA sidelines...going down with Keith Henderson, he played for GA and won a superbowl w/Joe Montana. Anyone ever been to one of these? What kind of food? Also it says Bar...I am assuming alcoholic beverages.

I should be at the game tailgating as well and would love to hang out for a few and engange in a little pre-game banter.

I'll either be at The Varsity or Wilsons stuffing my face and then heading across the street.

If you eat at the Varsity, we should be able to stick our noses in the air and come right to you.

Is there a Varsity in Athens? The one in Atlanta is the only place I've ever been cursed by the person taking my order for a chili-dog.

I think everybody that has been to the Varsity has a similar story. You better be ready to order when it's your turn.

There is indeed a Vasity in Athens. It's at the corner of Broad Street and Milledge Ave probably about 1/2 mile from the stadium.

Thanks, but I'll just cuss MYSELF over the grill (that is, as long as they're still allowed in Athens).

Sounds good to me. Sorry we never met when your nephew (?) came to town.

Hopefully you will get to meet him Sat. If we make it he will be there with my parents and they will all be decked out in orange. (do you have any idea how hard it is for a DAWG fan to arrive in Athens with a clan of UT fans with you. Pray for me) :)

Well, kick me off too, then. The Varsity is pretty foul. It only exists for the nostalgia. Well that and the onion rings

I'm telling y'all, EAT AT ACHIM'S. It's effin' awesome.

How far is the Athens airport to the campus? I'm flying in and am just curious.

From checking out ebay today, tickets seem to be pretty pricey.

The airport is right outside the perimeter and campus is right at downtown. It's a very easy drive . . . 4-5 miles tops.

Varsity bad??? Are you kidding me? chili cheese steak, chili cheese slaw dog, onion rings, frosted orange and a apple pie....

Or if you prefer good old home cooking just go to Wilsons. Or you can go for the "after late night drinking" favorite The Grill if it is still there.

Oh, I mentioned the onion rings. I totally forgot about the frosted orange too! As announced in other threads, my ill will toward UGA is seeping out in everything I say.
