The U.S. District Court has ruled that most of the ATL metro area may not withdraw or store water from Lake Lanier.

So what does it all mean now? Will they go to Savannah River? Tennessee River? Desalination? :unsure:

Water is a commodity it will be bought and sold like anything else, they now will no longer get it for free.

Actually I believe their state congress simply declared that the line was wrong, giving them enough of Marion County to claim part of the river. I guess GA should just come take it.

And who drew the state line originally back in the late 1810's? A Univ. of Georgia surveyor commisioned by the Governor of Georgia at the time. It was their screw up. Sorry, tough luck. That just shows you what type of school UGA is.

And if we start redrawing lines in TN/GA, then Philadeplhia would be in Maryland because the line drawn for PA/MD is wrong, also...

The state of Tennessee should be proactive and offer to sell them water via the Tennessee River to help with our state budget. This could be a win.

But control should be maintained as to how much water they can draw. They'll suck it dry like Allatoona if you let them.

Too much common sense involved in your plan. Politicians would never agree on it.

Tennessee is very reluctant to discuss water with Georgia, even a sale. Georgia wants to keep bringing up a border dispute. Once Tennessee discusses that dispute in the legislature, they have legitimized Georgia's claim of a disputed border. That is why the legislators have refused to acknowledge there is a dispute.
