Georgia vs Arkansas

Perception is everything, man.

It's the same reason I wish we had bought out Oregon and Oklahoma.

What's a day or two of embarrassment if it means an easier path to a bowl game?

Nobody except Tennessee fans brings up the fact that Vandy cakewalked to bowls in 2011, 2012, and 2013. All they talk about is three consecutive postseason trips and back-to-back 9 win seasons. A bowl game last year off the backs of 4 cupcakes, South Carolina, and Kentucky would still have been a damn bowl game.

Back on topic: If Arkansas or Kentucky really had a breakout season this year, CBJ's rebuilding process would really come into question.

Oddly, sports writers have actually mentioned it a bunch regarding Mississippi State in the previous few seasons (and to a lesser extent, Ole Miss).

Has Jones made any BCS bowl games? (Serious question)

No. However, I don't think showing up to a BCS bowl and losing is any better than not going to one (I mean, going to the rose bowl 3 years in a row and losing all 3 is an embarrassment).

Arkansas is incredibly one-dimensional. Once they are behind by more than 10, it's over.

Thats the truth. We arent built for come backs nor are we built for overtime.

Arkansas still has plenty of things to sort out.. not the least of which is a MFin' kicker! He's not getting any elevation on those PATs much less hitting actual field goals.

Brandon Allen is a good team leader and all the players seem to like him but man.. I'll be happier when some of these younger QBs are ready. We got a 4* dual threat freshman that figures to be pretty good and another 4* pocket passer on the way. Hopefully they work out well.

Right now, if you can shut down Arkansas' run game.. you win. It's as simple as that.

The bad part is Arky isn't even bringing in top talent. This is about what they'll be for the foreseeable future.

Arkansas has never brought in top talent. Even under Petrino.. most of those guys were 3 and 4 star.

Yes it's nice to have big fast guys.. but from what i can tell.. I really think recruit rankings are way over rated. It has a lot more to do with how they fit into the system, how they are coached, and how they are utilized.

A coach can make a team full of 4 and 5* athletes look like an FCS team and vice versa.

How do you feel about the future of the program under Bielema?

I feel great about our program under Bielema. For all the crap he gets, he has run a clean program thus far at Arkansas. We havent really tolerated any silly mess from our players, and thats been the message since he got here.. One of our best players right now is actually on notice for some off the field issues. Basically, this kid is gone if anything happens again.

I am a fan of power football and a stingy defense, so I'm right there on board with what BB is trying to do here. Power offenses require depth though, and that takes time. I just hope the fickle portion of our fan base can strap on their big girl undies and ride it out until we get there because I feel like it will be worth it in the long run.

I'm not sold on Jim Chaney.. but then again it's hard to be a play calling genius when the lack of depth, experience, and talent on the field makes every play you call absolutely critical.
